glanz wax in plastic container?

I have a question i would like to direct towards glanz wax users.



I read that the tin is cumbersome to use, and that many people have prefered to put it into a spray bottle for dispensing. To those who have done this, have you noticed any deterioration of the plastic from the solvents in the wax? Do you feel safe leaving it in there long term, or do you only pour out what you can use into a smaller spray bottle?

I use a little plastic spray bottle. I have noticed no deterioration, but you may wish to only transfer what you want to use within the next couple of days. GW will evaporate very easily.

I use small plastic bottle (supplied by Detailer's Paradise) and have not noticed any detoriation of the plastic. I have had GW in the bottle for about 3 months.

I would store it in the tin container that it comes in and only dispense out about 2-4 oz. at a time, depending on how many cars you are doing. I haven't noticed any change in the plastic bottle that I have about an ounce in at the moment, it hasn't puckered or gotten thin. Now the bottle that I have a remaining ounce of Klasse AIO in has puckered.

My 4 oz. plastic dispenser bottles are the high density polyethylene ones from US Plastics and probably aren't chem resistant. The Klasse plastic packaging seems to be better than my sample bottles.

Thank you everyone for your replies. A few more questions for the glanz users regarding the difficulty of using the stock container. Is it because it's so thin that it's hard to control the flow? Or is it the shape of the spout? What shape is it anyway?

I don't know since I haven't tried glanz yet, but I can say that while I love 1Z polishes, the can is a pain because everything comes out quick and like a mess and the cap doesn't exactly pop off and on with ease. Sounds whiny, but I definately prefer nozzles like on most dispensers.

I have mine in a plastic spray bottle I bought from Target for three months now. Seems to be fine.

Just a tip, I dispense Glanz like putting paint thinner on a rag. I put the foam pad over the top of the bottle while the bottle is upright, then I jerk it up and down to splash the product up onto the pad. It's easier than trying to pour it out onto the pad. Just FYI...



Also, I've put it in small bottles for samples to people. I was amazed at how much was solvents and how little was wax when it settled out... The stuff doesn't smell strong because they were just "keeping it real" by not adding fruity smells. It smells strong because it is strong. It would be like trying to scent a bottle of turpentine. No way you could cover that smell. But the wax left behind seems very smooth and shiny.
