Gilmore Foamgun - a time saver?

Hey guys, either I'm just obsessed and looking for excuses to buy more stuff OR there may actually be something to this. Besides the other benefits of the foam gun, I believe it may be possible to save me some time?



If I can cut out the need to dip into my soap bucket all together, I'm assuming this will cut at least 15 minutes from my wash. It'd be a quick hose down with the foam gun, followed by two sheep skin mitts (one in each hand), used, turned over, used, and then dunked and cleaned in fresh water.



Am I right in assuming that this will save me time?
 
I got my foam gun last week and love it so far. I pretty much do what you described and it's a lot faster and easier than the 2 bucket system. I ordered some of the detailers pride shampoo and the stuff is great but also had good results with NXT and zymol auto wash as well. Infact my friend borrowed it today to wash his dog.
 
I don't look at it as a time saver; it is a tool to do a better job. I use it when my car is extra dirty. The extra dwell time the suds have on the paint helps dirt flow off when I use the mitt.
 
I don't really see it as a time-saver either, but rather as a *paint* saver because it keeps the wash-induced marring at bay.



But if the vehicle's not *that* dirty you could use it in conjunction with a BHB in a very time-efficient manner. The foamgun will automatically rinse both the panel and the BHB if you do it right, so you can just walk around the car washing without having to stop and rinse out the wash media (BHB).



Shoot the suds at the point where the tips of the BHB's bristles contact the paint. "Jiggle" the BHB as opposed to making long sweeping motions. Rinse things off before the suds dry on the already-washed sections. It can go pretty fast but it takes a bit of co-ordination and practice to do it right.
 
Search for my posts that have word "foam gun" in them and for thread that Accumulator started sometimes in last 3 months that have "foam gun" and "BHB" in them. That will idnetify two threads in which Accumulator and I went on extensively about cutting buckets out of the picture by using foam gun.

(I hope Accumulator will forgive me for answering question asked from him, but I figure anything that helps him reduce number of questions he needs to answer might be welcome by him and gives him a "thank you" for all the questions he did answer)
 
now I gotta simpel question if you don't mind me asking. Which soap out there offers the most foam with the foam gun. I have a ton of Griot's Car Soap, but I wouldn't mind trying other things. I got the DP foam wash when I bought my gun.
