getting wax/polish off trim?

ive used stoners trim shine and it only covers the wax/polish for about a week, then it comes back



how can i get it completely OFF the trim?
 
Peanut Butter works well. The oils pull out the fillers. If that doesn't work then you need to go at it with a cleaner like Meguiar's #40 or something and a tooth brush. that should do it for good.
 
A white polymer eraser and some elbow grease were the only things that worked for me. Everything else I've tried just covered the stains up.



BTW, Jngrbrdman, don't you mean Meguiar's #39? #40 only has very mild cleaners....
 
Hmmm... Maybe I do. I always get the Meguiar's numbers mixed up anyway. I don't know how long I called #26 #32 instead. Don't ask me why... :lol
 
The white eraser worked for me, havent tried the peanut butter yet.....kids wouldnt allow me as we were running low at the time I needed it :D
 
I have used Simple Green to remove wax residue from black trim. I am waiting for the Gold Class Trim Detailer, to come in, that I ordered on Monday. Rumor has it that a Major Auto Mfg. specifies GCTD as part of a TSB to deal with black trim on one of their models.
 
Mothers Back to Black is decent but PEANUT BUTTER works unbelievably well. You'll be amazed.



I have some tough trim pieces...I might have to try that meguiars stuff too...

Eraser works MAGIC. I umm accidentally got it all over my girlfriend's trim while waxing her car so I quickly reached for some dash stuff and it covered it up but 3 days later she looked at it and it was white and asked me WTF?



Umm yeah. I told her I'd fix it and the eraser thing worked better than I could have imagined. It gets old after about 2 minutes of rubbing but it works!



(Next time I'm Klassing her car, no white wax residue)
 
I tried peanut butter but it didn't work for me. What did work was Lexol leather cleaner and it worked great. I found that a lot of the methods work but it comes back after a wash or two.



I did a search on this forum and read about using leather cleaner. It probably depends on what wax/polymer your using, what works for one may not work for another.



By the way I brushed on the Lexol and then wiped it off.
