Getting tired of Menzerna, Help!

I have had no issue with SIP/White not taking out compounding marks. After that step I am very confident the holograms etc. have been removed -not hidden. Follow up with PO106FF/FA or 85RD to refine the finish even more.

Sounds like you are using to mild of a product to take out the compounding marks and it's just masking the defects. I've seen it so it's very possible.

What the..??!??

He's referring to the whole Menzerna filling debacle that went down on the site between some very well respected and knowledgeable detailers and Jeff Silver (Menz rep) that resulted in some banning of members.

It's been proven time and time again, but is a touchy subject around here.

If I use 3M EC, I can usually get it almost perfect with SIP on a "German" green pad. Then, finish with whatever you like.

By the way, the title of the thread implies that the Menzerna products are the problem, but it looks like the issue is the 3M compound. I haven't seen any mention of the actual Menzarna products youre using.

Technique and time is the whole key! People at car shows always ask me how the hell I get my cars paint so perfect and stunning. Lots of time....

You're right about that, Menzerna is really picky for being worked, and worked and worked. Every time I try to blow out a menz job and do it quicker, it always seems to turn on me and bring back holograms a month later :wall.

Off subject but I gotta tell ya, that Camaro SS is friggin' beautiful. -and I don't even like domestics...

Nice LandonZ, real nice.

As I read this Megs vs Mens stuff I reminded of my motorcycles:

I think of meg's as being my 2004 Honda CBR 600rr -User friendly and confidence inspiring from day 1 -makes you feel like a better rider than you are. -and yes still fast capable and fun

and the Menz is my Ducati 749 - a superior machine, yet it actually made me regress as a rider for a long time -until I really concentrated on mastering -at which point, I realize that there is no substitute. It's Autopian.

To this day, I think I could turn in a faster track time on the CBR, but now that I think of it, does that speak volumes of the machines or to my level of riding?!

-not to go all metaphorical on you guys...
