so i was driving and they had just painted the white lane markers on the road.. and it got all over inside my inner fender..

how would i get it off?

I did a Dodge Charger a while back - same problem except it was yellow paint and it went down the rocker panel on the driver's side. i used Goo Gone, spray, pray, let it dwell - then use a plastic razor blade to scrape. Be sure to wear some eye protection -paint sometimes pops off at speed and can fly into your eye (ask me how I know!)

You'll need to use a good APC to clean up afterwards.

I too have used a plastic razor blade to scrape it off, but in my case some FK1119 softened it up enough for that to work. OTOH, some got in the wheelwell of the A8 and, well...a little bit of it's still there :o

Hey....I saw some product designed *just* for this a while back...eh, I can't remember who had it  It was some vendor that would ring a bell, just can't recall who it was :nixweiss

You sure it wasn't traffic lane cleaner you're thinking of? That's for upholstery  :p

Personally I've had success using Optimum Power Clean at full strength to remove paint like that.

If it's a plastic fender I've used an old credit card ala plastic scraper. It had been on and dried for quite a while (weeks) so i don't know if made a difference.

Mostenbocker's lift-off graffiti remover

Phishy4- Wonder how that stuff works on cars/trucks without messing up their paint...must be like lacquer thinner, i.e., OK on cured/etc. paint. Sounds good for plastic fender liners though. But I don't think that's the product I'd run across previously

Shiny Lil Detlr- Heh heh, "Traffic Lane Cleaner" :chuckle: :grinno:

people will say i'm crazy and this was about 7 years or more ago before I knew much about detailing... I used gas and it ate the paint off... it didn't do anything to the cars finish either.

Bill D- I think those TOL wipes are what I was thinking of.

OnTheSpotMobile- Interesting caveats for using those wipes on painted surfaces. I bet the same concerns apply with all such products.
