Getting Gum off a finish

So I come out of a movie (Matrix Reloaded, if you must know. :) ), and do a quick walk around my car, to see if anyone left me door dings. And what do I see? a big wad of chewing gum rubbed into my fender.

I tried best I could to get it off. but couldn't seem to get it all off.

Any suggestions? :nixweiss

Would a claybar take it off?

Martini,

I had the same thing happen- gum all over my door! I used WD 40 and it worked great, just makes sure to reapply wax or your sealant of choice after using WD 40.:xyxthumbs

Goo Gone works with gum on carpeting so I'd try that. Tar remover might too I imagine. Either way, don't forget to rewax the area.

Stoners has a product for removing stuff called Xenit, a citrus based cleaner and they advertise it will remove gum from carpet.....if I remember right. I've used it for various stains and it's good stuff for what I've tried it on. www.stonersolutions.com I think.
