Get into the zone.....Auto Zone

I went to 3 auto zones today and they all were sold out on .99 stuff . It seems that one guy went to all 3 stores and bought everthing. You would think that they would put a limit on how many sale things that you could buy. He will just go to a flea market and sell everthing for a profit.

dang I feel like I got ripped off today!! I went to Autozone and spent $13!

-Black Magic Liquid Wax

-Eagle One Nano Liquid Wax

-RainX Bug-n-Tar Pre-Wash Gel

-TW Ice Interior Protectant

- 3 of the autozone spoke wheel brushes

There were a lot of empty spots on the shelves where people had obviously already cleaned house. I saw a lot of tabs marked .99 only to see empty space above it. oh well, this gives me a chance to try a couple products that I probably would never try.

i spent 47 cents today.

about 13 bags worth, spread over 5 autozones.

I was lucky enough to find more Turtle wax Ice claybar kits...(tossing the crap liquid, and keeping the clay)

at one autozone, the guy was funny...he was like WTF?? yelled at his manager for not telling him about any of the 1 cent stuff....lol, i gave him a bottle of the turtle wax wheel cleaner with the brush on the end.

Awww. I hope you don't live near me. I think i'm going to go back to check tomorrow.

I hate to see the liquid get tossed, but I don't think it'd be worth the hassle to ask you to ship it, unless you have a couple to get rid of.

I was going to clay my wife's car, which has never been clayed, and figured if I did a once over of this and then clayed after it'd save the clay some...unfortunately, none of the AZ's near me had any left. I did get a bunch of other stuff, just not the 1 thing I was looking for :(

same here. though i have yet to use the clay, i opened one up and it feels like it will probably be mild/gentle, similiar to the megs clay...

I went to 2 autozones here today in N. Fort Worth, TX.... the first guy when asked about any deals was an *** and gave me a funny look. There were a few spots where 99 cent items were cleaned out.

Second autozone had a few spots of the same stuff cleaned out. Some of the stuff mentioned above that was 99 cents or 1 cent was still full price at the stores I went to. Must not be a national thing.

at one store a gentlemen gave me two kits for free, at another i paid a penny, and at the last one i paid .99$ each for two kits. i can't really complain and if the clay doesn't work well, not a big loss IMO. i didn't really care for the other items, so i didn't bother with them...

meh, i may seem like an ******* for going to 5 autozones, but i left alot of stuff there, i was mainly looking for the clay kits....i did get a lot of the 2pack triangle microfiber applicators (like 15 of them), and a bunch of the wheel brushes.

They also had some water hose sprayers that had a spot to put your carwash soap in them that were 99 cents, and now are 1 cent (got 5 of those, cuz they dont feel very sturdy, lol)

Turns out, autozone has these clearance things all the time, just gotta find out about them.

Well I stopped at another AutoZone today and they had two clay bar kits that were regularly priced. Took it took the register fr a scan and it rang up 1 cent. The clerk was like that can't be right they cost more than that. Another clerk said "well it's a clearance item"

I also got some MF apps and the ICE tire shine. All was marked regular price.

WOW I'm glad I shared the good deal lol.......I just went back and cleared the shelves for them. hahaha Can't beat $.01 Clay bars kits!

Anybody tried the Black Magic Wet Shine Liquid Wax or Eagle One NanoWax Liquid yet? Please post when you do.

Can't beat 'em for 1 cent, however I read conflicting reviews about the Black Magic Wet Shine Liquid Wax.

I tried both of them two days ago. The black magic for me would not fully dry and would always smear. It was 40 degrees so that might have something to do with it. The Eagle One Nanowax looked pretty nice. Application wasnt buttery smooth as boutique products but still easy. Looks was good and has easy buff-ability.

both are junk, and even a penny is overpriced.

even I skipped these 2.

I actually think OTC waxes have stepped up their game from the previous cement in a bottle they used to sell. Compaired my stash of LSP I think the Eagle One is actually pretty decent. Im going to have to give the Black Magic another go.

What LSP's do you have to compare to this? Have you even tried it before?

yup, tried it a long while ago when it first came out (black magic), and it was junk, even the turtle wax was better than it...granted this was loooong before I found this site, and knew what "good" wax was...but unless they changed their formula, it is crap...and alot of my customers didnt like it either (they came back for Meguiars).

the nanonwax, i have not tried, however, most eagle one stuff is junk, so I just assuemed this was too, lol.

Ran 4 auto stores and most didn't have any tags that said 99 but when I rang some up It was 99 cent for turtle wax ice and 1 cent for many other things.. Two if the stores didn't let me have the 1 cent thing :(

Like I said the Black Magic I will need to revisit because it was smearing for me due to the cold temperatures, i presume, but the Eagle One Nanowax is actually good. It gave a crisp dark look plus it has decent filling capabilities. From reviews I've read durability sucks but I will have to test this personally. Not that durability matters since there are waxes with poor durability that are very popular in the detailing world.

for a penny, i will give it a try.

those california dusters were still .99 cents... i figure they cant be all that bad....

oh, and to the poster that said they wouldnt give them the product because it was marked down to a penny, call that Autozones district manager....they have to sell it, its on clearance. They will get in trouble if they keep it for themselves.
