I am about to purchase a rear bumper gaurd for my scion. its held in place via 3m adhesive tape. the rear guard installs on my rear bumper of course, but im skeptical. what do i need to do to remove all of the waxes, polishes, and whatnot? should i just clay it? what product do i need to get down to the clearcoat and nothing else so this adhesive will adhere correctly?

I'd probably use Pro Polish or some of this Hi Temp Akrya Klean paint cleaner (that I just bought a gallon of) to remove all the wax.

The 3M Wax & Adhesive remover seems to work for me.
You can find it in the automotive section at Wal*Mart.

well, its no problem now since someone decided to smash into me this morning while sitting at a red light. I am going to need the whole rear bumper assembly replaced and the reinforcement.
