Gel Coat Detailing

What is the best way / recommend way to care something such a gel coated hood. Would one care and detail it just like it was just a regular clear coat?
 
I've never worked on a carbon fiber hood but I suspect the technique would closely mirror what boat detailers do. Boats are a gel coat finish.
 
Steve over at Poorboy's always told me that his Polish with carnauba (not the blue) was the best thing for polishing gel coats. I have read where a lot of boat detailers say the same thing.
 
Pro makes a very good rv and boat wax. Like Dave said though, Ive heard good things about the PB pwc. Most of the tuner guys i know that have CF hoods and wings wax them just like they do the rest of the car and i dont think any of them has had any trouble.
