Garage Light

Currently I have 1 light right now and its a 200 watt single bulb in the center of the garage. My garage is 400 sq feet and it lights it up pretty good but are theyre any other ways to go about lighting. I also do have 2 work lamps on a tripod too. I thought about replacing it with 2 48" but I dont wanna limit my lighting to one area and not sure if this would do that.

Ern- I'd keep the single incandescent bulb (ever notice how it really shows marring when the vehicle is in the right postion? ;) ) and get some additional lights.

If you want to avoid getting into stuff that'll require an electrician, I'd just get some more halogen lights on tripods. You can add an incandescent trouble light for final inspections if you find you need it (mainly required with paints like silver) and/or a movable fluorescent light for general illumination that doesn't get hot.

If you want to pay an electrician the sky's the limit ;)

2 fixtures with two 48" flourescent bulbs in fixture. Then get a halogen on a stand at home deport [ < $40 ] for the detail work. I wouldn't plan lighting around detailing my car unless the lighted area was going to serve as a my work space for an auto detailing business.
