Rasky what size is your garage kind of lights and spacing between them
Lights are something else I haven’t decided on yet

It`s 24` x 40` with a 16` x 14` room off the back. I researched lighting on the garage journal forum and went with 4` dual bulb LED fixtures based on the below threads. My layout choice was based on the expert layouts in the second thread, having more moderately bright fixtures vs. having less fixtures that are super bright. This was to have more uniform lighting throughout.

I wired them up on 2 different circuits, one with 6 fixtures and the other with 20 fixtures. I also wired up 3 way switches by both entrances. (11` ceilings)

You’re right about that gearhead. The builder told me an hour ago that the concrete floor guy poured a garage floor this morning at another garage and they used some type of metal for expansion joints done in sections. How many sections I guess would depend on the size of the slab. He said the metal sat down about 3/4 of an inch from the top of the slab I’m going to talk to the guy about it but it doesn’t sound like a bad idea sectioning it off. If they put them in line with the stem walls that might be ok. I’ve got plenty of time to make that decision. Concrete is $150 a yard where I’m a

I assume that would prevent the crack edges from chipping if something were to go over. That said, I haven’t had any issues with my cuts chipping or not holding the epoxy coating using just the 1/4” cuts to make the void. If I remember correctly my contractor said you need to use cuts (or troweled divisions) within 10 ft. of the next one. I’m sure that number could be different depending upon your base.

Concrete was going for $105/yard 14 years ago and we were darn glad to get it. The were redoing much of the interstate highway near me when I built and concrete was committed to the project. Just goes to show you how prices rise.

I`m very happy with it. I do have some other sides lights and stands for working on cars that I use but overall its plenty bright. It did look a little brighter before I redid my floor though with the colored chips. Originally I had smooth light grey epoxy that my wife an I applied but it was too slippery and it picked up marks too easily.
