Garage Floor Paint Anyone?

What do you guys recommend here? There are so many difference variations, is epoxy the way to go? What are your experiences? I hear hot tire lifting or even spilling brake fluid could be a concern?

There are several threads about that. Try a search and see what turns up. I know U-Coat It and other brands have been mentioned.
 
Some sort of two part epoxy is the only way to go. Best is a solvent based such as www.ucoatit.com but the down side is the price. My father used an solvent based epoxy similar to ucoatit three years ago and the floor still looks good in the garage, it will scratch but tires won't peel it up or oils or road salt. It was some harsh stuff that he applied and he needed a resporator to do so.



You can also get "Epoxy Shield" by Rustoleum and Menards or Home Depot not to sure but I don't think that the "Epoxy Shield" Garage Floor paint is solvent based like the ucoatit but it will do the same thing and is much more user friendly.



The main thing to remember when you do this is that the floor MUST be very clean and dry. Another important thing is you have to "etch" the floor in most cases to alow the product to adhere properly.
 
is race deck like the black and white tiles I see on the Griots catalog? If it is, I see lots of dirt and crud get stuck between the gaps and such.
 
I have recieved the promo pack from race deck, and i will be trying it to see how i like it for car shows, and advertising purposes, the folks at Race deck said that it would be cheaper than i am expecting, so i am hoping it isn't that bad, you can check it out at www.racedeck.com
 
I have Race Deck, and love it. Easy to cut and fit, costs about $3.60 sq ft. I use a leaf blower, and rarely a mop. I can still use my floor jack.
