Gallardo vs. C6 Z06

The real question is ... which car has the better paintjob? :nixweiss

The one that takes to its products the best. In this field (although exotics tend to have more refined paint) your prep and IMO the quality of your lsp can bring your car's paint parity with some of the more expensive cars.

cough..vette..cough.. :grinno: the vette is one of the lightest vette produced if i remember correctly  the site says 3131lbs or 1421kg taking into account 505sae hp...thats a pretty impressive weight ratio .161 power to weight ...the gallardo has 500 hp and weighs in at 3153lbs/1430kg which gives a power to weight ratio .159 :( ..**all these were attained online so dont flame me if they off** soo.....the lambo weighs more  less horsepower :nervous: which leads to the lower ratio, which is key to acceleration...add to that that these numbers arent *at the wheel number*..and the lambo has viscous 4wd..and well :furious: <---lambo owner get pwned by vette...yeah driver comes to play..but the vette numbers are better, and fyi...the vette have some crazy electromagnetic shocks that with the aid of magnets help them stabilze the car in turns and near 50/50 weight distrubition so assuming the vette will get out turned is not safe

Just as a side note to that...I know of at least one C6 Z06 that made 470 at the rear wheels. Assuming 12% drivetrain loss equates to ~525 hp at the flywheel. :)

Others with just headers and tuning are doing 500+ at the wheels.

lol......couldn't have said it better.

That's why I like my cars american:

v8, loud, no additives, fillers, superchargers, turbos, and no excuses. Burbling, bustling, and not ashamed of it!

:nixweiss I had a really nice, mildly modded Accord but I never pretended it was going to run with a Camaro, F-Bird or Mustang. I've seen some truly quick imports but the owners aren't running around with massive rear spoilers, loud exhaust and trying to rev on everything they see.

What would happen if you threw in the odd corner ;)

The Z06 is one of the fastest street cars every around the Nordschliefe 'Ring. 13 mile track with a time of 7 minutes and 42 seconds. Only the Porsche Carrera GT is faster. The Porsche 966 GT2 has the same lap time, the Pagani Zonda S, Laborghini Mucielago and Gallardo, McLaren SLR, standard C6 Corvette, Porsche 911 and Dodge Viper are all slower than the Z06 Corvette (source, September 2005 Motor Trend).

Chrysler is doing the same with the SRT-4...many magazines discovered the 'at the wheel' hp was the same as the 'advertised' hp.

Have you seen the brakes on the new Z06? The front ones are like the size of a wheel on a Honda Civic. Tell me those were only made for drag racing! :)

I think his same logic applies to his great cornering European Rally cars, no?

If you have any videos of the Z06 competently negotiating wet gravel or dirt roads at top speed, please share. :D

Horses for courses.

Top Gear tested the base model (400 HP) 2005 Vette and it went around the top gear track as fast as the F355 and P911 Turbo. I have no doubt that the 500+ HP Z06 spanked that over priced Italian car.

I would just about kill somebody for a ZO6!!! I-30 runs right by here, and there is a truckload of 'Vettes parked at one of our local motels pretty regularly. It has to be the same driver because it's been happening for at least 10 years. Anyway, the last time I saw a load of them they had a silver Z06 on the trailer. My wife and I just sat in our car and stared until we got worried the motel would call the cops. What an awesome ride.

The regular C6 is awesome IMO!
