FX 100 vs AW

Anyone use FX100 anymore ? Its a spray sealant glaze w/ wax and wondered how it stands up against AW ??

I use, and like both AW and FX-100. I think that on my car the FX-100 looks a little better but the AW is far easier to use. Right now I have AW on top of FX-100 and it looks great. I love using AW as a drying aid because it makes the WW just glide over the paint.

is there any noticeable difference in durability between the 2 ?

both are sealant / wax combo spray waxes , i really dont see the glaze part of the FX100 and honestly as long as I have been doing detailing I never could figure out where a glaze fits in and really what it does.

I view it as a spray wax sealant , like OCW , AW , ect....

I use the FX 100 and really like it, but I can get streaking problems with it. Never tried AW.

And yes, I also find it to look better after the next day

I use both with layers of FX100 going on first and then AW to give it extra pop. This combo makes solid dark colors like my red pop ridiculously. :bigups

Still use FX 100 and like it very much. More of a neutral look for me, but slickness is very good so contaminants don't stick easily. Not too fond of the little bits-of-something that float around in the bottle and eventually end up needing an extra swipe to get off your paint. Still, at the price it is economical enough to use after every wash.

Not that I care how people write, so take this as a joke.

How about this: "I think you should edit your post so that it is understandable to read."

:hifive:

Ya all ain't right I say

Back to the FX 100

Do you think darkens after each layer ? I presume you can layer it with out issues.

I've been putting off trying both AW and FX100 while I use up my gallons of other QDs, but I'm finding this interesting.

Differences between perceived "wetness" and "gloss" sometimes get me confused, but I *think* I know what people are saying about how the two products compare.

A few Qs (and please pardon me for not just searching :o ):

What about layering these products? Worth doing, time between layers, time between one product then the other, etc. etc.?

I seem to recall somebody using FK425 in conjunction with th FX100, anybody doing this?

Does FX100 work OK over carnaubas (specifically Collinite 476S/#16)?

Anyobody tried PolyCharging either product, and if so how did it work out?

Bence- Any idiot-proofing type advice you can offer regarding the "spray it on the application media, not the vehicle" approach with FX100?

I have topped FX100 with 425 and I cannot say I noticed any considerable amount of gloss added. The FX100 alone is what made the difference. However like most have stated here I became annoyed with the little flecks. Doing some research here I found an old bence post stating applying product to the cloth first was the best method. The seemed to take care of my fleck problem. I actually used a megs foam microfiber-wrapped sponge to apply. I would spray onto the MF, apply, let it haze a little then buff with a second clean MF towel.

Come to think of it, I am not sure why I ever stopped using it. I guess I got caught up in the AW craze and found that a bottle of AW was cheaper than FX100, plus AW could be bought locally at CarQuest. I really think I prefer FX100 more though as I think it works better (compatible) with my base coat wax (1000P). FX100 also surpasses AW when used on wheels, as AW seems to give an initial shine but diminishes quickly after a few days of commute. FX100 seemed to last until the next car wash.

As for layering, this could probably be best answered by FK1, however their web based forums are down and seem to have been down for several months now.
