I have 3 funeral home accounts that I detail for. I have 3 because of the first one I was able to get into. they are great accounts to have. But do not expect to be detailing them every week or even every month. I detail for one of the funeral homes every 3 months and do their entire fleet. Exterior wash, decon, and wax, and interior detail with no carpet shampooing unless it needs it. Another one has me in 3 times a year and the other I do maybe once sometimes twice a year.
They were taking the fleet to the local tunnel wash every week until I educated them on the damage they are doing. I was able to upsell them to a 1 step polish and since then they maintain them weekly with washes etc.
I have also started converting them to Opti-coat. So, far only 1 vehicle was opti-coated as a test (new Buick enclave). And the rest will fall in line.
Funeral homes are great because they know everyone in town and they are tight knit community. All the local funeral homes work with one another and if you impress one of them you are more than likely to get more work out of it. Some of them may only bring in you in twice a year for a spruce up and other may want you more often. All depends upon the funeral director.
Pricing varies depending upon your location and what they are use to paying. My funeral homes don't mind paying a little extra for me as they know they are getting quality detailing. No fluff and buffs. But I also am not always polishing them. I charge 25% off my normal pricing for them. And they are happy with that. They may have the money to spend however don't let that make you think they will pay for full retail.
Also, if your able to be mobile for them they love that! Most have a garage that they keep the vehicles in so they can provide that area for you. It makes it easier for them as they don't have to run each vehicle to you over the course of the day.
It's a great revenue stream even if it's not as fequent as say a dealership. But much easier to deal with and most of them are great people and will get behind you fully (as long as you prove yourself as a quality detailer and not trying to screw them).
