Fun with reflections!

ive saved a pic off the net, where there is a reflection off a Hummer of two naked ladies :D

i cant post it obviously

^ I hope the orange peel doesnt make those ladies look too saggy and distorted

I don't usually take snapshots of my car, but i took a few while testing out a lens i had just got. To photogeeks out there : The lens was a f1.4 set wide open, so the depth-of-field was really too small to show depth-of-paint :grinno:

Here is my favorite reflection shot - My former 1999 Jet Black BMW 740iL using the following steps to achieve this picture:

1. Polish entire car with Griot's Machine Polish #3 using a Porter Cable Random Orbital Polisher, with a CMA white polishing pad about 2 or 3 times and wipe off any remaining polish.

2. Apply Klasse All In One acrylic polish/sealant and wipe off. (I waited overnight to apply next step.)

3. Apply Meguieres No. 7 Show Car Glaze to top portions of the car, (Hood, roof, & trunk), and wipe off.

4. Apply 2 layers of P21S Wax.

Obviously product choices have multiplied since I took this picture on a sunny August day in 2003, but proper prep really is the key to great looking paint.

Cheers,
