Frustrated first time PC user!

The fist couple times i used the pc i knew pretty much right away what it was all about. Removing very very little at a time.

Now i spend maybe an hour on a fender or so.

A hood...with common swirl marks, at least 4 hours for me.

I have some 4" pads that seem to make things alittle quicker in the area it is working, but the trade off is 1x1 areas instead of 2x2 areas.

I am seriously considering a 2 part season for my LSP.

1st part would be after a 2 step polish lasting for 6-9 months. In this time frame i wouldnt use any fillers.

The time remaining i would use fillers.

I bought a leaf blower to try to reduce any marring i might get from drying, but a person can literally go insane knowing that there is a swirl on the vehicle.

...the finish still looks like it can be improved. Using SSR 1 with a polishing pad may give me better results.

Or should I use SSR 1 with a light cutting pad (orange LC pad)?

I haven't used SSR1, but I *never* use mild products with aggressive pads. I'd much rather use an aggressive product with a *mild* pad. So if it were me, I'd use the SSR1 with a mild polishing pad.

Here is an update on my progress of the 1994 jeep wrangler that I am currently working on. I have been taking my time with this, as I have been extremely busy. I am not completely done with the project yet as you will see in the pictures. Have not even began to tackle the interior or wheels. So far I am pretty impressed with the PC and SSR lineup. Thank you all for your help.

Pictures are only after using the PC with SSR 2.5. I still need to go over everything again with SSR 2.5 and finish with SSR 1 and polising pad. Then I will apply AIO, then either seal or wax. Any suggestions.... Here is what I currently have...

Sealants...

Zaino, UPP, EX-P, NXT, WG

Carnaubas...

P21S, Pinnacle Signature Series

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!:xyxthumbs

You said you used an orange pad and got decent results. Others have said to use a polishing pad, but in case a new PC user doesn't know, you should follow up with a "white" polishing pad.

I used the orange light cutting pad with SSR 2.5. I am going to follow up with the white polishing pad with SSR 1.

Should I try a different combination of pads/polish?

goceltics34 - I'll let somebody more familiar with the SSR line answer your last Q, I just wanted to say that the Jeep certainly looks great :xyxthumbs

I'd let the final finish (after all polishing) determine the LSP. If it turns out virtually perfect, then I'd use a sealant, probably the UPP or Zaino. If it turns out a little less perfect than that (heh heh, only *you* will be able to tell ;) ) then I'd probably use a NXT/wax combo.

Thanks for the kind comments Accumulator. They mean alot especially from you. I hope I can get the finish "near perfect" but won't hold my breath. I know this PC takes a little practice and I have just begun the process of learning. The PC however, makes a rookie user like myself seem like a seasoned veteran almost instantly. I am sure happy I made the choice to purchase it and so is my arm!
