Front and rear windows, PITA

After many years of cleaning my windows I finally found a method that works for me.

I only clean the windows in the early morning when the glass is still cool and I only clean the windows with the car in the shade. I take a blue shop papertowel, spray a generous amount of windex on it and then I only go left to right on the inside of the windshield. Once it's cleaned and dry, I'll take a second shop towel and do it again. Once that is done, take another shop towel but make sure it's dry this time and go over the windshield in the opposite direction you cleaned it. In this case it would be up and down. I've done this many times already and haven't had any streaking problems. Hope this helps and remember not to use windex on tinted windows.

What dilution are you using? I haven't mixed mine up yet, but I've heard it works best around 35:1.

used 25 oz water and added .5 oz glass cleaner in a spray bottle. so about 50:1 like the directions state. they say that if you mix it stronger you'll get streaking.

Okay...here is one of the biggest secrets I have regarding detailing your car! This system for window cleaning cannot be beat! For those who don't know me, I am about as anal as it comes when detailing my cars.

The key to getting your windows perfectly clear is simple....

1) Stoners Invisbile Glass in the can.

2) Blue Surgical "Huck" Towels

Personally, I like the used towels more. They sell both new and used on EBay. I get the used. Just do a serach on EBay for "blue surgical husk towel."

I have been using this combination for years and nothing....I mean nothing....makes your windshield and windows and clean, clear and perfectly streak free as this!

Try it......I guarantee it will be the best $25 or so you can spend. These towels never wear out so you will be able to use them for years. My towels are about 10 years old and they still work like brand new.

Be 100% sure you do not add fabric softener to the wash when you run them through your washing machine. Fabric Softener will make anything streak. You can wash these towels with anything else you run through your machine. No other special care is necessary!

Just a side note.....my wife uses nothing but these same Surgical "Huck" Towels to clean our entire house...windows, mirrors, countertops, etc.

Enjoy! You will not be disappointed!

NOTE TO AUTOGEEK: You can buy these Surgical "Huck" Towels in huge quantaties at very little cost on E-bay! They are used but I can assure everyone that the "used" towels work the best. In fact, they seem to work even better as they get older! I think you would "hit a homerun" if you started offering these as a solution to window cleaning/care!

Now, you wanna know the best wax/sealant for your car???? Finish First. Nothing beats it! Also available on E-bay or directly through the company. Been using it for years. I have tried every, and I mean every, product out there and nothing compares to shine, depth of paint, very little effort to apply/remove, no residue or dust, no streaking, incredible protection from dust, pollen, etc., and especially durability. One coat easily last 6 months in the Phoenix heat!

Just another tidbit from my toolbox of things I use to keep my cars perfect!

These days that's mostly about all I use them for.

How about cleaning Tinted windows? Anything special needed such as

ACE IT? Spray on polish? I was told to use that on my ceramic window tint.

Thats what the installer gave me to keep the windows clean. It was suppossed to be less harsh etc stc. I havent used it yet as i have just found it folling around in my trunk.

I just use Invisible Glass and a clean towel on tinted windows. No need to rub hard and no need need very much SIG at all as I find the tint is easier to keep clean and streak free than straight glass. Don't use anything with ammonia as it will break down the adhesive in the tint (tint shops use ammonia to remove tint).
