Hey guys. Just wanted to share a few pics with all of you of my Torch Red Mustang which I detailed. This is my first "Autopian" detail so let me off a little easy and feel free to make suggestions.

Here was my process

-NXT Wash

-Mothers Clay Bar

-NXT Wash

-Klasse AIO by hand

-Klasse SG by hand

-Waited 24 hours

-Klasse SG by hand

-Waited 24 hours

-Meguiars #16 Professional Paste Wax

I also used Meguiars Hotshine Tire spray (I have better stuff now though). I also AIO'd the wheels but I didn't get any close up shots of them. Since then I have put two more coats of #16 on and it looks great. Beads amazing and is relatively slick. Well, here they are.

:woot: nice stang! nice detail too. does the brake calipers come red from the factory?

was wondering the same thing. glad to see that someone else saw the red in the wheels as did i. personally i think it is a nice touch. goes well with the GREAT DETAIL of your car!:xyxthumbs

nice glossy look.

but, may be your white balance is off on your digital...looks kinda pale...as if the paint is faded...or it might be over exposed....who knows...maybe its my monitor!!

cool car!!

BTW.. a photographers trick is to photograph earlier in morning or later in afternoon when the lighting isnt so harsh!! thats why your car looks so good at dusk!!

Hey guys. Thanks for all of the comments.

Buickguy: ya. I see it. I am getting a PC in a little under 2 months so I need an EXTREMELY mild polish to get VERY light scratches/swirls out. Any recommendations would be great. The whole car is not like that though, I must have just picked the "perfect" spot ;)

steck: I am a bad photographer, the color as really vibrant and it looks washed out on my moniter too. The only one that resembles how the paint really looks is the first photo. Might need to brush up on my photo skills though.

O, sorry. I also forgot to mention that I had the brake calipers painted by the dealer. It is Torch Red Hi-Temp paint so it matches perfectly the color of my car. Thanks for all the comments, I think it gives it a nice little accent.

yeah, i think the car will look better after a light polish to get rid of the hazing. most of the pics dont' show it though, so good choice on posting those;) too bad you posted that one, cause you gotta know us Autopians will see it and point it out haha.

I applaud the poster for posting such an honest picture; it's hard to overcome the urge to choose a different angle just to show nice reflections. :D :up
