Ok wax is boxed an will ship tomorrow.

My lawyer wife: What are those boxes?

Me: Wax I'm sending to the guys on that car care website.

Wife: The stuff that smells like oranges?

Me: Yeah.

Wife: We'll I hope none your friend's kids eat the wax and sue us.

Me: Is that a common case that comes across your desk?

Wife: You should put a warning label on there.

Me: There already in the box.....

Wife: You and your geek friends are going to cost us the house.

Me: No one is going to eat the wax!

Wife: Famous last words!

Me: I'm going to the garage.

Wife: Whatever.

SO- In lieu of a label. Please don't let your kids eat car care products. With or without a label warning you of such, I don't want your kids to get sick. On the other hand I don't want my wife to bitc% at me when we are homeless.

Please heed this warning.

Thanks,

Barrett

LOL, Hilarious!!! And Barrett, this is such a cool, fun thing for you to do, man. Totally cool. :hifive:

Everyone's wax should arrive tomorrow. Let me know in this thread.

Please remember, you nor you kids or pets should eat it, rub it into their eyes, smoke it, sniff it, inject it.... Well you get the point, just use it on your car.

FYI- The colored waxes may stain your hands (red, black) no big deal, nothing toxic. You just may want to use gloves! Otherwise your spouse may ask some weird questions. Trust me!

Am looking forward to it. If it's not top secret can you tell us what you used to make this concoction? is it the natty's and nxt combo you were telling us about?

Yes, no, and then some. I promise I'll let you know after everyone has tried it!

If the colored wax is able to stain skin, will it be murder on my MF towels?

The wax came out fine in the wash. By staining hands, I mean temporarily discolor. You can wash it off fairly easily.

The wax came in the same day as my Souveran/CG5050/Natty's order and my boss says "What the hell is this stuff?" I just laughed and said "A guy I know is a mad scientist and he sent me a wax that smells like oranges."

Can't wait to try it out! Reports on the 'White Solution' coming soon.

(And I agree, this is very fun and cool of you to do!)

Barrett,

Is this your hobby or are you inventing a commerical product? Please tell me it's the former.

Completely a hobby. I sent it out in rubber maid containers for gosh sakes. I'm just experimenting to share my results. It's hard to be partial about results when you make the stuff. That's why I'm giving it away - to get feedback. I will reveal the ingredients when the results are in.

Mmmmmm it smells good. I just got mine in today. I should have read this thread about it staining hands....now my finger is red. I want to test it out badly but we are having a bad week rain wise down here in houston. No worrys though, as soon as I can get an afternoon on my girlfriends car I will def test it out and report back. Thanks again.

I am sure this is not going to happen, but what happens if something bad happens to your car? Do you really not want to know what you are putting on the paint? I dont know, I like that the person is experimenting and everything, but I would not use something unless it has some tangible something that I can read or BLAME if something goes terribly wrong.

just picked up my wax from the post office, it has a nice fruity smell to it. I want to try it out today but might not be able to. (I got the death look from my lady when i told her i was going to wash my car again today) I will post results as soon as i get a chance.

Also barret, how sun friendly is this formula?

well i was told these have all been tested on his car without melting the paint, so i am willing to take his word and try it out so he can have some impartial results.

I have not been around here long, but i have noticed that you seem to always have negative comments, Joshtpa.

I tried them all on my car with no ill effects. If you read the beginning posts, I state that this is an experiment. Try it on your microwave, lawn mower, anything. If I got something free in the mail that concerned car care, I too wouldn't run out and put an entire coat on my new car. Common sense should prevail. You can't BLAME anyone when you try an experimental product, that's the point. These people are willing to give something new a shot. No ones making anyone try anything. I'm not trying to sound defensive, although I believe that's how I am coming across (not intentionally.) This is supposed to be fun.

Barrett,

My comment was not a knock on what you are doing... All I was telling people that anytime you dont know what is in a product, proceed with caution.

I wouldn't think that the colored waxes would be full sun / hot car friendly. Although they may be. I however tried them all in the garage on a fairly cool car. I cannot stress enough how thin these should be applied. Think Zanio thin. You should be able to remove them after a very light haze with two / three swipes of a MF.

The consistency of most is between a full paste and a liquid. Providing both ease of application and removal. My goal was also minimal if any dusting.

I couldn't agree with you more. No hard feelings.

Once those who received their wax post their results. I will be making up new batches and sending them out in another contest. My ultimate goal is to take off the shelf ingredients, plus a few low cost additives and make a great product that all can use. My only concern is that some of the additives might not be commonly available.

FYI:

All waxes are NXT + Natty's Blue + Extras.

White wax has 6 ingredients.

Black wax has 7 ingredients.

Red wax has 7 ingredients.

All color wax has 5 ingredients.

did a preliminary section of my car, consistency makes it really easy to apply. Not too thick like some paste waxes, but not so runny that it tries to get away from you. Smells freaking great, (I love that NXT juicy fruit smell) and seems to add extra depth to the paint. However, I don't think i'm getting the full effect, as my car already has a few coats of sealant glaze on it. I plan on trying some on a couple other cars (ones that aren't as meticulously maintained as mine) and seeing how it looks on a car with no other LSP's.
