Four Star Pro line vs. Ultimate

Does anyone know if there is a difference between Four Star Professional Polymer Paint Sealant and UPP?
:surrender

H U G E difference. Very huge difference. It is like the difference between Meguiar's #20 and Wolfgang. They may both be polymer sealants, but so are most sealants out there. UPP is significantly newer than the 4* polymer sealant and it is much more modern in how it enhances the appearance. The 4* polymer sealant is great if you are just trying to protect something but not really interested in shine. I use it on RVs and boats all the time. It is more cost effective to buy that stuff by the gallon and still get good protection than it is to go broke using two bottles of UPP on the same motor home. lol

I think you might be confusing the new pro line PPS with the older formula "4-54" Four Star used to have. The PPS in their pro line is not that far off from the UPP actually. The PPS is a slightly different formula to be more cost effective for the pros but it is still an excellent sealant.

BTW, UPP comes with Poly Charger in it now which reminds me, I need to mention that on my store.

Thats good to know Troy. When I PC'd UPP it was an awesome combo. The slickness was unreal and I swear you could literally "blow it off" when removing it.

+1 Yeah, so did I. Can I add polycharger to a bottle and actually have it last? Or does that have to be used in a different form?

If UPP has the polycharger in it then I definitely have to get some of that!!

Anthony...Yeah I would be interested in hearing from Troy on how the PC is mixed in the UPP. I was always under the impression that after 48 hours that PC mixed products were useless.

From what I remember David telling me, I believe the Ultima products had a form of polycharger in them as well. I think he is pretty much in charge of the Ultimate line of products these days anyway, so it wouldn't surprise me to see this type of thing show up in other products as well. It is worth checking out. UPP has been in my top five favorite products for years and this makes it sound like it just got better. :)

While I know next to nothing about Polycharger other than the advertising info on a couple of sites, there does seem to be some question as to what can be done with it.
If it is only good for 48 hours in a wax/sealant, why is it OK to mix it with detailing sprays?
Do you have to use up all the detailing spray mix within 48 hours?
It also is listed as being compatible with spray waxes.
It seems it would be very inconvenient to try to mix up just one or two ounces of a spray wax/sealant/detailer and still have the product sprayer work. To have enough product in a bottle for the spray tube to reach it would seem likely to waste a lot of product.
Is there a different formula when it is mixed with a product during the manufacturing process.

Must be more to the story than what has been released so far.

The 48 hour rule applied to the CH2 version for sealants and liquid waxes. Once mixed the product had to be used within 48 hours. This is similar to Zaino ZFX.

The H20 version can be added to spray waxes and QD's without having to worry about the product expiring.

The 48 hour rule only applies to the CH2 version in it's full dosage. We have found the correct dosage where it makes the UPP better, but still keeps it's shelf life. You can still boost the polycharged version to make it even better, but it then must be used in the 48 hour time frame.

Thanks Troy. Yes I was inquiring about the new pro line from 4* vs 4*'s UPP.
Thanks Again,
Jerry:thanks
