Found A Steal At Advanced Auto Parts

scratch pad before during and after pics

really happy with those results. imo i'd pay $18 for just that little scratch pad alone after using it. it really does take scratches out of the clear with very little effort

That's not true. Watch the video.

How to Restore Paint with the 3M? Paint Restoration System - YouTube

Those pads are probably made alongside many others made in China.

Where are most pads made? I can't seem to find out by reading the marketing pages.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic, but trust me when I say these pads are next to worthless

3" 3000 grit sanding disc are only a buck fifty each

It has nothing to do with Advance Auto Parts. The product is offered by 3M. AG and AF sell 3M brands, as do many other sites.

Besides, I'm a pad waster. I use about two pads a year. Use them once and toss 'em.

Can you tell a difference in these (cutting) pads and the ones you picked up at Advance?

actually not too much. my LC yellow pad is a little stiffer/harder then the 3m, but not very much. I will say the LC pads are easier to clean though. but as far as cutting I used the 3m pad with Megs 83 this weekend on a black g6 (pictured above) and it did just fine. took me less time also. and if i'm honest I really like how the pad wraps around the back plate, so I cant accidently rub against a side view mirror with it. I like the pads

also here is a pic of a hood before and after I wet sanded it with 2500 to compare Megs 83 with a LC pad and 3m compound with 3m pad

LC yellow and blue (I actually messed this pic up its supposed to be Megs 83 and 82, NOT 80)

I think the pads worked great.

That's not the first time a backing has come off a pad. I've read about bad experiences with more expensive pads.

What did you do wrong?:inspector:
