I was just playing around today bored. I tried some forever black on my window trim and some other trim. I came to the conclusion that unless the trim/plastic has some texture to it do not use forever black becuase it will run. I tried putting another layer over it but only made the problem worse. Anyone have any ideas how to fix my little problem? Thanks.

Well, the applicator on the top isnt the best. You really need to apply and spread with that stuff. You dont want to apply thick at all. I did my Expedition when I got it, and wasnt "real" happy the results, but an additional coat kind of cleared and evened it out. Im considering something like 1000 grit to even it out, then reapply.

i was also unhappy when i first used it on my badly faded bumper

i emptied it into a dish and used a small soft sponge to apply it as even as i could, then once it was set up i used a grey scotch pad and soapy water to gently even it out

it took a further 2 applications and scothpad sessions to make it right, but the scothpad really helps even the finish without being overly abrasive

I used Forever Black on the smooth plastic C pillars on the back of my Explorer that were fading. Because the plastic is smooth it was streaking badly. What I found works is to put a bunch of coats on (I think I did like 5) then after is has dried (I waited a day or 2) go over it with either a lite polish or a cleaner wax with a terry applicater to polish out the streaks to a smooth flat look. Seemed to work pretty good for me. Lasted about 2 years before I need to do it all over again.
