Foreign or American?

Well as the title states what would nudge ya'll to consider buying American cars?

This makes it sound as if no one would buy American unless somehow persuaded or forced. :lol2:

Domestics are all I've ever owned, both personally and when I had my dealership.

If the American manufacturers hadn't sat on their laurels for so long, the current state of affairs would only be a nightmare and not a reality. Blame it on so many factors, but the bottom line is that not enough was done to effect any changes. Here we are.

Build a desirable vehicle people can afford and they'll sell. While I'm a General Motors fan myself, they currently build very few vehicles I'd consider buying. The two cars that come to mind are not practical in my climate. The others are trucks.

Trucks are what domestics did well for so long. Also, they afforded people the passenger room and towing capacity that we are accustomed to having.

After 1996, GM didn't build a big car. They claimed to, but none of them hit the mark. SUV's took over as the big, showoff, mine's-bigger-than-yours territory that large cars used to own in this country.

The new Z06 is a very quick sports car, but it is far from being labled a super car(I'm not trying to say that you labeled it as one). The interior styling is mediocre at best and feels really chincy inside. I would rather them raise the price of the car and put together a better interior than to have to sacrifice comfort and quality just for a big engine. It is probably the best bang for your buck sports car though. It will take out entry level super cars too, but it's really only limited to those entry level ones. But just remember that the 4 cyl. Lotus Exige S. took out the new Z06 on a road course on an episode of Top Gear.

i wasnt labeling it as a super car just for the fact of the interior but to me if im buying a sports car im not going to be to worried about "the road noise" and the interior thats not quite up to ferrari specs... for 1/3 the price of some of the entry level super cars not to mention the modification capabilities of the zo6 now im not by any means an "american car nut hanger" as i would gladly buy a ferrari f430 if i had the money but imo american sports cars gm in particular is the best overall value with the best after market support and overall performance

You'll see that I stated that I never said you called it a supercar. The point is, if I'm going to spend 70K baseprice for a vehicle, I want it to have more than just a motor. For that amount of money, I can get a very slightly used Porsche GT3 that will cater to my every need.

true and i know u never said i called it a super car cuz it definatley isnt... it all boils down to opinions though to me a new zo6 is an excellent sports car and if i had the money id def. buy one same as if i had the money id buy a ferrari as well. but to me a sports car doesnt have to be the most confortable im in it to go fast and handle well which the zo6 does near flawlessly even the brits on top gear say so lol.... if i wanted a confortable car that could go fast id probably have to go buy a porshe or bmw m6 as you said

American and Foreign, I like them all except a Yugo:D

Don't lie, you know you have one in your garage :scared: :lmfao
He do anything about that.

1. He tried to sell it.
Yeah, right. You know how that went. :D

2. He tried to give it away.
Nobody wanted it. :)

3. He tried to pay someone to haul it away.
No takers there, either. They said he didn't have enough money.

4. Right now, he leaves the garage door open all the time hoping someone will steal it.

5. Last resort will be eBay.
They will buy anything on eBay.

The G8 is on the list as well, but I don't think I'll be able to wait. We'll most likely be purchasing around Oct-Dec.
