Ford Edge -- Spring Cleaning

I could hardly believe it myself. My wife pointed out a detailing tip from the November issue of Better Homes and Gardens.

"To maximize the absorbency of your towels, add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse water once a month when washing a load. When the cycle is complete, dry as usual. The vinegar removes the excess detergent that can decrease absorbency."

Well, it's worth a try on my Fieldcrest Charisma towels. They're not as absorbent as I thought they should be.

It was once pointed out to me that in martha stewart that it had a whole section on detailing. It was actually by some old guy thankfully not her. Most of the advice was solid (if not very simple) and old school. One disturbing point though was the recomendation of liquid silicon for the tires and plastic, but as a lubricant for wheather seals and to then coat them with talcum powder.

Sometime back, a month or so, I recommended that when washing your towels used for polishing waxing, to run them through a cycle following the regular washing, with just a cup of vinegar in the machine.

It aids in removing the wax/etc residue as well as making them more absorbant.
