For those who like to eat mussels over pasta. Recipe

1 beer

2 tbsp minced garlic

1 pint heavy cream

1 tbsp corn starch or flour

1 stick butter

1 lb mussels still in shell

Any pasta but works good with fetuccini.



Bring beer, butter, and garlic to near boil in pan.

Add mussels

Lower heat a little so they simmer

Boil water for pasta

By the time the pasta is done cooking the mussels will have opened.

Remove them from pan with slotted spoon.

Add cream and corn starch/ flour

Whisk it into a heavy white/ cream dissolving the flour/ starch.

Strain pasta and put in bowl

Put mussels on top of pasta

Pour gravy over all of it.

Add Parmesan to taste.



Bon appetite.



Easy and I love it.



My favorite side dish for this is eggplant cut into about 1/2 inch disks with olive oil and salt/ pepper. Put them on your grill, yes ON the grill, and cook until soft. Then top them with Parmesan. It's awesome.



I usually do the eggplant while my wife makes the pasta. Ah the joys of marrying a good Italian girl from the Bronx.
