What does everyone think if foam guns?? What is the best one? And can you still utilize the 2 bucket method??- do you still have to put soap in the bucket>>>

I use my foam gun and the 2 bucket method. I use the foam gun to presoak the car and I use it for wheel wheels and the wheels and tires so I dont dirty my 2 bucket method.

I also use the 2 bucket method when using the foam gun. Better safe that sorry. I do whatever I can to keep from polishing swirls more that once a year.

Yep, same here.

There are different methods of using foamguns, and IME it takes a while to a) figure out which method is right for you and b) to get a handle on that method. I must've used mine a few dozen times before I really got it all sorted out to my satisfaction. Worth it though, I hardly *ever* have to polish out wash-induced marring any more. Whenever my wash media touches the paint, the foamgun is spraying sudsy water at the point of contact.

Along with the different methods, there are different types of foamguns. The most popular (best? well, yeah, IMO) ones are a) the Gilmour one that's sold under various brand names and in a few slightly different configurations and b) the foam cannon/lance that attaches to pressure washers. I use the former and I have the model with the sliding brass mixing bar and a one-quart size solution bottle.

Evil,

If you're wanting one for use with a pressure washer, I'd get the cannon/lance one. The Gilmour one just hooks up to your garden hose and the lance one is for use with a pressure washer.

I really like my Gilmour gun, but have been using ONR a lot lately due to water restrictions. We've been getting so much rain latley, I think I will be able to use it again soon.

So just to clarify:

Accumulatore the Gilmour one with the sliding brass mixing bar is pretty decent? And it can be used without a power washer? I only do this as a hobby and don't want to invest in a power washer (yet).

Is this the one you're talking about? eShine Canada: Foamaster Foam Gun (Quart)

The "Wolfgang"-branded one in your link *is* the Gilmour one; yeah it's good.

It does *NOT* go onto a pressure washer, just the hose- it hooks directly onto the end of the hose and as long as you don't have really crappy water pressure it oughta work great. But use a quick disconnect as you'll want to take it off and use your regular nozzle for rinsing (I just use two hoses, one for each task); the "rinse position" on the foamgun is pretty weak and only good (IMO) for doorjambs/etc.

There area some threads where we discussed the various ways to set them up, with quick disconnects and shutoffs in place of the pistol grip (which I found very awkward compared to a shutoff).
