foam gun

I got one. I like it. It lubricates and helps loosen up the dirt on the car before using the mitt. It's a worthwhile investment. I got mine on Amazon. I didn't see one on CMA.
 
I have a Gilmour that I've been using for about 2 years now and I like it. I use a mixture of Meguiars Hyperwash and Shampoo Plus in there and use a medium setting for a sort of pre-wash. I foam down the cars and let the foam drip down before hosing it over and going to the 2BM.
 
I, too, have been considering a Foam Gun. I just looks like a very "safe" way to wash a car. Pre-soaks the dirt, softens, loosens, lifts from the paint surface.

Best unit to buy?:smile:

Mine was Gilmour too.
 
sounds like a great way to "pre-soak" the car before using a brush or wash glove, do you have to use special soap for this or can you use any soap?
 
Foam Gun
Using a Gilmour Foamaster II Foam Gun in conjunction with your two bucket wash method can further minimize adding imperfections to your paint. The main benefit is that you can pre-soak your vehicle with shampoo without the need to touch your paint. This allows the surfactants in the shampoo to lift contamination from the surface of your vehicle, which can also speed up the wash process.

Specification
?Water Pressure - 40 to 90 psi (for maximum accuracy 40 to 60 psi)
?Output - 1-1.5 gallons per minute
?Spray Pattern - Foaming attachment provides a fan spray or removes for a solid stream. Deflector attachment for non foaming fan spray pattern.
?Anti-siphon - Protects potable water supply.
?Standard Single Ratio - 4fl oz per gallon of solution sprayed.
?Customized Ratios - Can be set from 0.25oz per gallon to 14oz per gallon. (Note: this range is affected by the viscosity of the chemical.)
?The multi-ratio injector offers five settings to adjust the dilution rate from 1 oz. / gal., 2 oz. / gal., 4 oz. / gal., 6 oz. / gal, 12 oz. / gal and a built-in filters ensure any sediment in the water supply is removed before it reaches your vehicle
?Available in two sizes: Quart or Half Gallon Foam Gun both with multi-ratio stem and deflector.

Filling the Foam Gun

1.Pour the appropriate amount of wash concentrate (Chemical Guy?s Citrus Based High-Performance Wash) into the foam gun tank and fill the remainder with clean water.
2.Adjust the dial to the appropriate dilution setting
3.Shake the foam gun tank to mix the shampoo and water.
4.Attach the foam gun tank to the foam gun nozzle

Washing Methodology

Rinse vehicle with clean water from a pressure hose, foam vehicle panels (using the foam gun as a pre-rinse) pressure rinse, then hand wash (using two-bucket wash method) panel by panel, finally sheet water and dry panels or rinse vehicle with a CRSpotless mineral-free, de-ionized water filtration unit.

We have looked at this off and on for some time now. We can bring them in and have them in about a week. I will let you know when they arrive, should we have a "pre-sale" on them? If so how many people would be interested in pre ordering?

I got the foaming attachment for my Karcher. It was about $25 and it works quite well. Not as good as the Gilmour or the Foam Lance I've seen on youtube, but good enough.

Although it seems to work bes wtih Detailer's Pride Xtreme Foam Formula Auto Shampoo. I've used it with Megs GC and NXT but the DP definitely foams up better and lasts longer.
 
If PAC price is in the same ball park as Amazon and the product is the Gilmour I will be in for a pre-order. But it has to be the Gilmour. I am not in a big rush but keep us posted okay?
 
Guys, I am glad to see the high interest in us adding these to our line up. We are bringing in the Gilmour. They will be priced competitively with other sites similar to ours before your TID discount. Take note on the pricing, Gilmour makes six different versions of the quart and half gallon units (12 total). We are bringing in the units with brass fittings, not plastic (like I have seen on at least two other sites charging the same price) and they have adjustable multi ratio ? 5 settings. I am still working on the intro pricing/promo for forum members and will have it up by the end of the week. Ours should be here early next week.
