Foam Cannon vs Foam Gun Review (the everything foam thread)

Is there any way of hanging up some plastic sheeting to seperate your wash bay from the rest of the shop?

I could partition off the one end of the shop that's under the 2nd story office easily enough, but the main part of the shop has a cathedral ceiling. Plus I'd need something that was reconfigurable as I'm always moving stuff around. And while it's a working shop as opposed to a fancy display area, it *is* nice enough that I don't want to do anything that'd look, uhm..aesthetically displeasing; having a "shower curtain" running down the middle of the shop wouldn't be acceptable to me for all sorts of reasons.

But you can bet I've considered it ;) Even figured out the sort of movable supports I'd use- tall poles with weighted dolleys for bases. I'd attach the support cables to those and be hang the sheets from the cables. Then I'd be able to shove the sheets to one end and wrap the cables around the opposite pole when I wanted to move them out of the way.

This is pretty much just a case of my vehicles having exceeded the capacity of my shop (which is still pretty nice for just being an additional attached garage that doesn't overwhelm the house- the shop floor is roughly 44' x 44').

Should compare the foam cannon to the cheaply blow mold one that comes with the electric pressure washers. It produces just as much foam for pennies !, but both will use alot of soap and not last as long as the soap in the foamgun container.

curious what brand of pressure washer you have. the one that came with mine is nothing more than a glorified soap dispenser.

I went to the Karcher store yesterday. They could order a foam gun that looked a lot like the Cam Spray foam cannon f0or about $92. He was unsure if it would be compatible with the wand on my electric karcher from costco, might need different fittings, wand & hose. I went on karcher's website and they have a foam detergent dispenser that is compatible with my electric model, but it appears to be all plastic. The price was only $15.99...for that price I may experiment with it. Has anyone else used this type of setup?

I already use the $30.00 foam gun from EZ-All and EQ Solutions to wash my horse and my car. It does a nice job, but the foam is pretty thin. I use a double bucket w/MF wash mitt in conjunction with the foam gun.

I have the Gilmore and the Karcher foamer attachment. Truth be told, I would suggest not wasting money on the karcher attachment; either stick with your 30.00 foam gun, or see if you can swap out your gun for a gun that will work with electric pw, and have a female screw on connection.

Thanks for this write up. Just have one question. Can you take a picture of how you have it connected to your pressure washer? Good review.

Edit- Or can you tell me what size the twist connect on the gun is? I'm trying to order some quick connects for it but am not sure what size to get. Maybe the 3/8" or 22mm??
