Hey guys, Just found this site yesterday. I am really impressed with the work you guys do. I worked in a couple detail shops when I was in college. I actually did it for 6 years. I know I know 6 years of college what the hell. Well let's just say I partied a little. I am looking for some advice on where to start on paint correction. Interior stuff I have pretty much got down pat. But the exterior is a little lacking. I have buffed out a ton of cars. Litteraly thousands but it was more of an assembly line process. We did mainly dealer cars so they all got the same process. We used auto magic products. So everything got if I remember their reviver product and then a hand buff with their BC-2. What products would you recommend for paint correction for my truck. Say What brand of clay bar\lub, And then for buffing what would you recommend for light swirl removal and a little orange peel. I have wet sanded many cars in my time but it has been a while since I did one so I would like to avoid if possible.

There is no avoiding wet sanding if you want to remove orange peel.

As far as light swirl removal there are a number of products that will do the trick (Poorboy's, Wolfgang, Optimum, Pinnacle, Four Star, Menzerna, Meguiar's etc..). I don't want to recommend one over another because I have had good results with all of them and I don't want to show favorites:cool:. The main weapon against swirls is a dual action polisher. A Porter Cable 7424 is the standard or as I recently have learned, a FLEX XC 3401 makes quick, safe work of most scratches and swirls. If you want the best possible results a machine will be necessary.
