I got the FMJ kit from Dwayne off of PAC....and the Chicago Electric rotary brand new from a guy at work for 10 bucks!! (guess he got a deal on it for 25 at the store but never used it!)

FMJ kit
Very nice packaging presentation - you get the wash, Final Polish II, Glaze and FMJ, plus two micro fiber applicators, two blue viper MF towels and a large MF polishing cloth! It's a good deal!!
Final Polish II - really easy to work with - I applied it by PC @ 5 with a yellow megs pad all over (except hood and roof - more on that) - I did half the truck and the gate then removed - Wiped right off and left a really good gloss. I think this is designed to work with the PC. I was pretty impressed.
Glaze - I used a yellow megs pad and PC a@ 4. This is one product that is a little unforgiving if you use too much. Where the FPII was fine using either a little or a lot - the Glaze you HAD to use sparingly or it would take forever to haze and remove. Once I got the hand of that - it took only a small X on the pad to do half the truck - one more X and the other half was done. If you use to much your going to get a lot on the mf and it seems to just wipe it all around - I switched out to a clean MF and buffed out the rest no sweat but it can be a PIA if you go over board - The glaze really left the paint wet looking and shiney. This glaze is designed to work with the FMJ sealant so no worries using it. It did not stain trim at all and in fact seemed to help with trim where there were some old product stains. I did one of the hard plastic side view mirrors and it buffed out glossy and black.
FMJ - It's PURPLE! - and very very very easy to use - I applied it by PC with Meg's tan pad @ 3. I did the whole truck in about 10 minutes- Like the Glaze a little goes a long way and gives you an nice even layer - I let it sit for 45 minutes and then wiped off with a Mullet Awesome Polishing cloth. Came right off no grab and no powdering. It was slicker than snot - probably on par with my all time favorite slickness - UPP. One thing I am a little concerned about it the color. It really stained my pad - it even stained the top of the plastic cap on the bottle purple where I got a little product. It didn't seem to affect the outcome of the paint but it's a tiny bit troubling.
All three products (did not use the wash yet) are super easy to use - even if you did not have a PC. And the results? Well see for yourself. I think it came out awesome on Black - highly reflective, rich color and very wet looking. FMJ is kind of pricey on it's own but the kit is a super deal!
Now on to the rotary - all you rotary owners are probably going to laugh but I have new respect for you all (CD I don't know how you do it!). It's hard to manage - it seems to have a mind of it's own on where it wants to go. Unlike the PC the rotary is a little more of a battle! And sling! - how do you guys not get sling every where?
I started with a megs 8" yellow pad and ssr2 to use on the hood that has some deeper scratches and some water spotting. I wet the pad with S&W and applied SSR2 in a circle about and inch from the edge. I wiped on the product to the surface (Rotary off) in a figure 8 then started it a little and lifted the edge on one side, then the other (I read this was how to controll sling) - no luck. Soon the windshield had ssr2 splatter all over it
. Anyhoo I worked the rotary fighting with it to go up, down, then left right. The product seemed to dissapear very quickly! How long are you supposed to work a section (I was doing 1/4 the hood). I used the same method with the rest of the hood and then did the roof. Each time the product just seemed to disappear. I am not sure I worked it long enough but I did not leave any buffer marks (I never went above 1400 rpm). I followed up with VM using an 8" tan meg's pad. Sling again . I worked in the product till almost gone then removed with MF. It came out very nice but I didn't manage to get rid of the scratches. I was proud that I didn't manage to damage the paint! :lol
Anyhooo - the hood and roof got finished up with FMJ as well all applied by the PC - I think it came out great - but next time I am going to do my car (eeek!) -
