FMJ Detailing Spray!!!!!!

have been talking to my wife about all the detailing supplies that i have been buying and experimenting with. i have used the menzerna products a lot on my vehicle. started with meguiar's products and had good luck with them but the menzerna products went on so easy and off even easier. since i apply product so often durability has never been an issue.

in discussing products with my wife, i told her that i thought that i would go back to meguiars because price is becoming an issue. then cma informed me of the new qd coming out. i looked at the price and am a little leary toorder. 15 dollars a bottle is a lot considering i do it so often.

i am lookig forward to any response in regards to menzerna's qd.

in truth i hope it does not hold up any better because my pocket book just does not want it to be so. but as someone said " you get what you pay for".

But name a menzerna product you've been disappointed with? and not because someone didn't use a rotary.
Final Touch Glaze. Smear-in-a-bottle, IMO. Other than that, though, I've had pretty good luck with Menzerna stuff.

I'm betting that like FMJ, this new spray sealant is really made by someone other than Menzerna in Germany--CMA chemists?

Still having trouble with that stuff huh :D. For me it's on and off pretty easy, do you have any of those MicroFinger pads? they seem to work very well with FTG. I put one on the PC with a small x of FTG and keep it around 3-4. I really think those old Meg's MF's with the black border really help to in removal, more so than other MF's.

Theses products are not original Menzerna Germany products. There's no FMJ or Detail Spray from Menzerna in Europe.

My guess is Menzerna USA (or CMA) had an authorisation to relabell some products under Menzerna name.

Bill D., this is off the subject but I had to say it. I love "Monk", its a great show. I hate it that Sharona will not be on it anymore. Wes

Received this product last night and tried it on my 05 SL 500. Over the past two months, I've used McGuiar's, Mother's and Zaino detailing spray. The Menzerna detailing spray blows the top off of them. I see a new gloss that was not seen using the other sprays. It finishes ultra slick. The only downside is that it takes a little more wiping to get the product off of the car, but I can take that when the result is as it is. It smells like Menzerna's FMJ (better than Zaino but not as good as Mother's or McGuiar's)

I stongly suggest that everyone give this product a try.

just received FMJ detail spray in the mail yesterday. cannot wait to try it out.

is nice to hear that someone thinks it is a good product. if it works as good as its counterpart, it should be a good combination.

will be out on the drive way cleaning up the black shadow if the weather is not to cold and will take pictures. will try to get them posted.

but u have to realize that even if it wasnt fully developed under menzerna, it could have been a tweaked formular of something, or a further developed product. obviously menzerna is a very reputable name when it comes to car detailing, so i doubt they would use current product, and just rebadge it right? and i figure since they claim it works well with fmj, it has to have some certain properties to it, which would make them claim that. just a thought... :nixweiss

i went out today and washed the hood of my truck with poorboys spray and wipe then applied menzerna detail spray to one half of the hood and pinnacle crystal mist to the other half.

i waited one half hour and asked my wife to come out of the house and feel the hood. as soon as she finished feeling both sides she said that she thought that the menzerna side of the hood was the slickest of the two sides. she does not know about any of the products that i use other than i have a lot of them.

she was right IMHO. the menzerna detail spray did the job. it was slicker. both sides were shiny.

i cannot wait to do a full detail and see if this menzerna detail spray will add to the durabilty of FMJ.

Is McGuiar's a new Irish wax from Ireland?:D

Seems like ProperAutoCare and PremiumAutoCare are the only ones that carry this spray. Want to give it a try.

Are they suggesting FMJ is also acrylic? Thus the need for an acrylic detailing spray?

Finally got my Acrylic shield in today and compared it to Platinum UGE side by side on a surface that had FMJ just applied to it. The Acrylic shield is slightly more difficult to wipe off, probably due to the polymers, however it left a finish that was more slick than UGE by far!

Really nice stuff to use after a wash.

that is the same experience that i have had. it does leave a nice slick surface but it is most definitely harder to remove than any other detail spray that i have ever used.

At the properautocare website, the origins of the Menzerna that we can buy are explained.

As for FMJ, it looks like Menzerna of Germany has a hand in it.

I'm not sure about the new spray, but I can tell you that it is clearly the best that I have seen compared to the other products from my previous post.

This is what I am trying to find out , is FMJ just a tweaked or repackaged version of Blackfire or something truly unique from Menzerna. They wont comment but will discuss their polishes at length. All I can find out is that CMA has been licensed to distribute some products under the Menzerna name.

If they are hush hush about it, then there is your answer.

Sometimes it not what someone says that tells the story, its what they dont say, or the questions they dont respond to.

I don't use Blackfire, but from reports, they seem to have different character judging by reviews. Is Blackfire similar to Platinum UPP? If so, then FMJ is most definitely different, but they are similar in the way that two ivory colored carnauba waxes are similar to one another.

I think the Acrylic shield is more of a after wash QD to add some extra protection and I'm not sure I will be using it every time a smudge needs to be wiped off. It's not that difficult to use, but it seems like it's purpose is more in the area of preserving the finish.
