Florescent work light

Was in Sears tonight & saw this small portable 13watt florescent work light. was wondering if this type could also be used or would work to highlight those nasty swirls we all don't want to see. On sale price was $11.99.
 
I'd say no. I have one and use it as a trouble light. The good thing about it is the fact it doesn't get hot. As far as detail work 13 watts just isn't enough light. Pepboys has some double halogen lights on a stand for $25. You might want to take a look at those.
