stay away from the CCS pads.. Get regular flat pads. They work much better and you'll be happier with the results.

Do you have a link to em on autogeek?

I was thinking Adams or the one that start. With an l. Sorry on my Iphone:hmph:

AG carries the 6.5" Flat Pads (link below), but do not have the 5.5" Flat Pads as of yet, they should be there within a few weeks as they have them on order. IIRC, the 5.5" flat pads they are getting are low profile and the velcro extends to the outer edge of the pad, instead of being recessed in. i guess we'll know for sure when they get them in...

Lake Country Pads

I ended up getting these Lake Country 5.5 Inch CCS Pads 6 Pack - Your Choice! and I bought the flex on it's own.

Make sure those 5.5" pads will work on your Flex. The Flex takes a proprietary backing plate that's made for pads at least 6" in diameter.

FWIW, my #1 favorite (as in, nothing else comes close) pad for the Flex 3401 is the Griot's orange foam polishing pad. It's very different from other orange foam pads and is similar to the LC tangerine pad.

that would make sense, since griots doesn't offer any other type of polishing pad besides the red which is used for lsp's...

hopefully you wind up happy with the CCS. Most of us including myself have not been to happy with those.

Nice purchase though on the Flex! That machine is a beast. I can't wait to order myself one.

Just got off the phone with them. He said that the 5.5 can be used "but" there will be no room for error and it's right up and the edge of the acking plate. So they switched it out for me with the 6.5 :)

If these pads don't work out then I'll just get the Grito's and see how that does. Thanks for the help. I will update you guys when the first car gets done.

And for the longest time they didn't even offer that red pad. With not-too-soft paint you can get by with the (Griot's) orange for everything. I even prefer it for use with stuff like KAIO.

(Note that Griot's originally sold a wider range of pads, flat/waffle, yellow/white, all in ~5.5". Then they went to the other extreme and just had that ~6" orange pad.)

Wonder if the Griot's red pad is like all the other red waxing pads  I like it, it wears like iron (well, gee...big surprise since it's just waxing, but still).

Those "smart pads" you posted are JUNK, stay away! Mine just trapped the compound in the cells, dried it out and spit it all over the place-made for a rediculous mess. I went with LC's Kompressor pads-those are nice!

I think "junk" is a bit strong.

I like the flat pads also but found using the CCS pads easier to keep working for longer periods of time without needing to reapply the product being used on the pads.

I have not used the Kompressor pads, I am sure they are quite nice also. I plan on purchasing the Kompressors at some point too.
