FLEX USER NEWS - Edge 2000 adapter coming soon!!!

My concern is with the adapter being in the center and the pad attached to it..if it will cause the original backing plate to flex more and rub on the metal housing...I also had 2 of the PC adapters fail so I hope the flex one is a bit more rugged...

the other thing would if any warranty issues using a non eom plate unless Edge gets approval from flex to use it....now to pushing a plate...3 paltes with a plate inside....and the adapter directly connected to the shaft which may cause wear due to offset design from original design..remember..this is direct drive...

I got this in an email from John this AM.

"We are looking to launch the Flex adapter for E2K pads in roughly 4-6 weeks."

I just can't wait that long so I'm going to by another Makita to replace my now broken one.

Jay what are you talking about beads?

I believe he's talking about the ball bearings in the adapter that keeps the pad locked onto the adapter.

I've had the same thing happen to my adapter. It was replaced with no problem. Now I'm being extra careful and not popping out the pad while the adapter is hot. Don't know if that will make a difference.

E2K Flex Conversion!

Thar she blows, folks.

That link says, "Now use all your 6" & 4" E2K Pads with this great new adapter!"

I can't find anywhere that carries E2K 4" pads. Edgepads.com doesn't have any info on them, either. I'd really like to replace my LC four inch foam pads with E2K four inch foam...

They're on autogeek, Supe.

Look under edge pads for cyclo polishers ;)

I have had my adapter for PC replaced 3 times and was told that it is not recommended for an Orbital of any kind, too much vibration.

Great on a rotary however.

So they sell an adapter for Orbitals, why?

Man you are never happy ;)

That's what Mrs. Supe always says, too. :D

Ya know, Edge says that they'll make specialty pads to order. Wonder if I could talk them into some four inch wave foam finishing pads. Oh, and some four inch white finishing wool pads would be great, too.

While you are at it have them make you a 16" white foam and wear it as a pimp hat while you detail. smooooooooooth!

Now we're getting somewhere!

I think I will shoot an email off to Aaron about the custom 4" wave foam and wool. Hmm... maybe we should start a new thread about this to gauge interest, and see if he'll agree to a group buy on it.
