Flex Stopped Working - Not Backing Plate Related

Sounds like a short, or you've overloaded it. Whats the current on the outlet your plugging into?

A typical houshold outlet?

Sorry, electrical is not my forte. I was using it off and on for an hour, nothing like the torture it typically faces.

Hmmm, it sounds like its just a defective unit that shorted out. Even on too high of a current I'd think it'd be fine in short periods of use... My guess goes to something in the switch circuitry. I had a similar sounding problem whit a remote switch for a ceiling fan. But who knows. Its pretty safe to say something in the unit shorted. Call the US distributor again when you get the chance. I wouldn't mess with it anymore.

Best of luck man, I know the VRG is a pricey piece of machinery. Sadly, the most advanced things seem to be the most likely to break.

Thanks, and I definitely feel it is switch related as well. Hopefully they do the right thing and fix this before I start getting paint correction details again! :nervous2:

Sounds like the cord to me. Did you try to turn it on and "fiddle" with the cors to see if it "activates" the machine. If so, just take it arpart, remove cord, cut off damaged area, and then restraip/rewire to the machine. Ours did this last week...

As ebpcivicsi said, try the cord and wiggle the switch. If you get power it is an easy fix. If not then.

If you can take it apart and not void warranty, you should be able to see or smell the damage.

Alright so I talked to Power House and I am shipping out the buffer tomorrow. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me!

OCKlasse- Thanks for the update! Glad they took care of you. Hm...that *sounds to me* like a rare problem that isn't likely to be widespread (but I guess we'll see).

A bad unit is bound to happen in a mass produced product, it speaks well for Flex when they fix it without trouble. Grats OC!
