Flex or G110 V.2?

I got a PC7424 the old version and it makes my hands and arms fatigue.. I want to get something more effective and faster to get a smooth finish. I'm a newbie u can say.

Just ordered the new Griot's DA because the increased amps/power it has. They have a "beefed" up version for $40+/- more. It come with a 25' 16 gauge cord. I would have puchased the flex but didn't want to part with that much $$$$.

Griot's, don't know about this one. I was thinking on getting the G110 V.2 or the Flex. But don't know which to get.

I just ordered a flex at 20% off from detailersdomain with the coupon 'cinco'. I ordered it with an 8 pc pad kit.

It was hard to shell out that sort of dough with a PC and a Rotary already but the rotary isn't in my 'mastered' department yet.

I do like the way Flex works but they only can use 6.5" pads. Although I'm used to using 4" pads. I think 6.5" is just too big and would be hard to work with in some areas. So I'm debating... Hopefully someone would answer me question..

Yeah that's the one downfall. Since I already have a PC and a rotary I can close the gaps by using those too.

The G110v2 has some known power cord issues. I don't think its a widespread problem, but I have seen some other forum posts about it.

Although the Flex is much effective and less time consuming but could only be used with 6.5" pads and expensive. Is it really worth it to get?

Yes it is and can use smaller pads with it.

LOL watch that backing plate give your paint more cut then your pad and product. I was actually in the same situation several months back, I ended up going through the 7424xp and a flex 3401 til I finally settled with my griots polisher (ver 2) and am 100% satisfied. I haven't came across a detail that the right pad and compount or polish couldn't handle. I sold my flex and the pcxp.

Food for thought. I was using my new Flex this weekend going over my daily driver, running the Flex @ speed 6. No fatigue what so ever. Used my UDM, older version (clone of 7424), on just the bumpers, started to feel the numbeness in my hands.

If you are detailing for yourself, either one will probably do. If you do this on the side ro as a business, cannot stress enough, a diversity of tools will one day come in to be very handy ;)

I have not used the new Meg's machine, but hear good things so far. When I tried the Flex at the 2009 AutoGeek gathering, the Flex felt like a handful. After performing about 2 full details with it, I feel as comfortable with it as my Makita.

The real question I think should be Flex or a Griots Garage, I think that it comes down to money. In my experince (what I have read as I have only used the PC and the GG) the Flex is a "little" better and the GG is a lot cheaper. The flex has more power and the GG is a lot more veristile. I am using the GG and I am very happy so far. I think my next purchase will be a rotary not the flex.
