Flex / Griots Question

Back in April I had an issue with my G15 from Griots. Asked the question on here and the consensuses was that my brushes were bad, so I called Griots and with great customer service they sent me some new ones for free. That seemed to work and haven`t touched it since finishing up that detail.
Fast forward to Wednesday this week, I broke it out again to perform a test spot for a potential customer and it wasn`t working again! Talk about being embarrassed.
Thankfully I have my trusty Flex 3401.
I called Griots again and explained the problem (backing plate - without pad - in the air - will not rotate until at least speed 4, with a pad - in the air - even on speed 6 won`t rotate.), they asked me to send it in to get repaired.

Question: Can I use the BOSS pads on the Flex without damaging the pads? More concerned with the microfiber and the yellow polishing pads

I did call Griots today to ask this question but the guy I spoke with did not know what the Flex 3401 was, so I explained that it was a DA with a smaller throw but it was a force rotation, and his answer was yeah sure but sounded more like a question. I do not feel very confident in his answer, hence the question here, and I get answers I trust.

I know I could just go for it while I wait, but those pads are expensive, I need them to last as long as possible.

You’ll be fine as long as you don’t run all out on the flex, which you shouldn’t need to. Sounds like a speed switch problem. They’ll take care of it.

Received my G15 back from the shop today. It`s a different one, as in not my original, I`m pretty sure it`s a refurbished one, but I don`t care as long as it works.

I feel like this is a perfect example of why I need a Flex 3401. I need a back-up polisher just in case the Rupes 15 ever goes down. My wife will love the suggestion:)

I would recommend a backup for everything, and if your wife doesn`t love the suggestion......well then it`s a good thing you have a backup! :lmfao:lol::lol::lol:
