Flex 3403 VRG

If the spindle is 5/8-11 the adapter will fit perfect! then you can change to any size pad without having a backing plate. That said, it does look like 6 inch size is best reccommended for this machine. Just to note that we also make the adapter for 14mm for Europe, 16mm for Asia, and have a DA 5/16 male adatper for random orbit machines like the PC, Cyclo, and UDM, a special Makita B06040 adapter, and soon to be released a conversion kit for the new Flex forced rotation DA as seen here.

What are the pro's and con's with regards to the highish low speed setting of 1100rpm's on the 3403 ?

Is it as big an issue as some suggest or is it not all that bad...I am new to this and am considering the 3403 as a first rotary due to it's size and light weight but the speen issue has me worried..........HELP please hehe

Well, I was finally able to detail my car with the Flex!

Here is a mini review for now:

MX5 got some Z Concours + Flex L3403 VRG Review

When I get more experience with the machine I will post a more in-depth review :)

First, that was an awesome outcome on that detail. Beautiful car.

Second... Now that you've had the Flex for a while, would you recommend it? My current rotary is on it's last legs and I'm looking at a replacement. I was thinking Makita 9227 or Hitachi SP18VA, but the Flex now has my attention. I never use large pads, and the light weight has lots of appeal.

Thanks for the nice comment SuperBee364!

I absolutely recommend it :) Used it again on a RS4 and it acted beautifully. You may go well with a Makita (excellent machines) and it is the choice of many detailers, but its a bit on the heavy side and a bit too much for me and my back problems. I find the Flex to be very well built and very smooth with the electronic accelerating trigger, add to this its light weight and it fits me perfectly!

Although let me recommend you also that you get some 3M pads + 3M backing plate. They are the best thing I ever used!

Is the 1100rpm lowest speed an issue in reality, some suggest it is and other not ?

Im on the fence, I like the weight and compact size but am concerned it's maybe to fast.....HELP !!! lol

Excellent! I have a 3403 on order! I'm also going to get the 3M backing plate and some of their pads. I saw the picture you had of the 3403 using the 3M plate and pads. It looks like a very nice setup. Thanks for the help! :bigups

I've done my 3rd detail with 3403 and the results keep getting better! I did my GF car this morning/afternoon using System One polish and Megs #21 v 2.0. Avatar picture is of her car after polish and sealant.

Retail price is $334.73 according to Flex NA.

$334 :shocked, you are lucky I wish we had such Flex prices...

Here, at Flex dealer it costs $750...

I'm a newby, just a question - is the Flex 3403 better than a rotary, plus safer?

The flex 3403 is a rotary.

I'd still prefer the metabo 12-175 over the flex.

They both appear to be very similar in power and weight. The Metabo is slightly quieter tho and can take slightly bigger pads.
