Flex 3401 VRG Headcount

I'll have to retract my count for a Flex 3401 VGR as I just recently sold mine since I use my DeWalt so much. But I'll still keep my Metabo as a backup. The Flex is a great tool, but I just didn't need it.

Gee, I must've missed this thread. I have one, and also managed to get an Edge adaptor for it before those went missing.

Lucky you. I sold my PC bought a Flex and now can not get the Edge adapter. Guess I will have to buy some new pads.

.....am amazed that this thread is still going.

Eh..a thread about Cyclo/PC/whatever headcounts would keep going too. Had people not kept updating it I wouldn't have noticed it to add myself to the list :D

Didn't mean to gloat regarding the Edge adaptor :o

I can't help but think that *somebody* here must have access to a machine shop (well, it wouldn't take a lot of equipment) and could whittle them up if there's sufficient demand. It's a pretty simple little doo-dad, wouldn't be a big deal for somebody who's remotely skilled at such stuff :nixweiss

No foul. I was just stating my situation. I am glad you got 1. I wish I was quicker at the switch (should have bought it awhile ago).

trl2112- OK, I'm never 100% sure how stuff comes across online.

Yeah, it was a pretty narrow window of opportunity; I just happened to get my 3401, and thus look into the adaptor, at the right time.

Someone asked this earlier but I couldn't find an answer -- when I first receive the Flex, do I just lube the top of the felt ring or do I take out the ring and soak it? It seems difficult to remove.

Please take the effort to read a page or two back into the thread in the future.

I poured Mobil 1 into a ziplock. Zipped it in and worked it around until it got a good soaking. Took it out and thoroughly wiped it dry with lots of paper towels.

Whereas I just rubbed a little firearms grade lube into mine without taking it out or saturating it. Different ways you can go and IMO *not* applying a lot of pressure when polishing will also help avoid issues.

I got my Flex a couple of weeks ago, lubed the felt ring, tightened the backing plate, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. It's still a little cold. Hopefully, in a few weeks we'll be good to go.

Is everyone using their machines with the handle attached? I'm not using one with the PC and I'm wondering whether there's benefit in removing it on the Flex.

I sold mone the day after I bought it. I didnt think it was for me.

Now, with the non-diminishing abrasives from Meguiars, I think I could find use for it.

I bought a second, but still haven't broken it out.

I've had mine for over a month, haven't used it yet. I just moved into a house i'm still settling in. I can't wait to use it.:woohoo:
