I got mine yesterday and my first impression is that it was bloody heavy.

The machine is built well, solid machine for sure.

I took it to town on my hood with a Blue CCS pad, and you can immediately tell that it has that much more power the the PC. It vibrates a lot but still feels "smoother" in the application of a polish.

5 hours after I did the hood my body basically started hurting, my arms, my shoulder and the back of my legs. Given I'm out of shape, and haven't done any work since November I find it reasonable given the weight of the machine. I compared it to my Hitachi Rotary and the PC and it was heavier then both.

I'm gonna have to hit the gym again to get into shape to use the machine.

Welcome aboard Pilot.

My Flex was one of the earlier models, so it did not come with the soft side grip. But from my understanding you have to take off the bale (sp?) handle (there is a screw on either side) and then the soft grip handle has a threaded screw on the end which would screw into either side (where you removed the screws from the bale handle). And I imagine you'd have to keep one of the original screws on the opposite side from the side grip. Again, I don't have the soft grip, but that's my understanding...

My suggestion...try it out with the bale handle and see how you like it. Most feedback I've read seemed to prefer the bale handle. Also, I took my bale handle off once and it was kinda a pain to get back on. Plus the screws that hold it on are very close threaded and it seemed to me it would be pretty easy to cross thread them. Not something I'd want to do too often.

Frostydog, thanks for the welcome!

Yeah, the manual was no help on the handle, didn't even mention it. It was good that the instructions were 21 languages, but they did neglect to include my native South Bostonian, wicked pissa.

Did you notice the instructions refer to always pull out the mains plug!. That had me going for awhile.

Since this is my first machine polisher I'm going to practice on a test hood I happen to have access too. My son's car is in pieces in the driveway. So I'll start out with the bail handle until I get it down.

Cheers!

Latest update from Powerhouse regarding the Flex. I spoke to Ben around 3:30PM CST today and he told me that they're waiting for 500 units to arrive anyday now. He also told me that if anyone has given them a CC and does not cancel they will ship when the units arrive and charge the card. He anticipates 4 to 5 days to clear Customs on the East Coast . It still looks like very late January or early February since they are coming by ship instead of air. I can't wait to get mine!!!!!!

Got mine last Week. But wont try it out before the weather get´s better. Living in Denmark, that means until spring.

Just got an email from AG stating my Flex has been shipped! I ordered it at least a month ago so I'm pretty excited about getting it. Can't wait to try it out next week.
