Flat stove top - Can I polish it?

I just moved into a place with a flat top stove (Whirlpool, if it matters).



My mother bought some special stuff for her stove when she had remodeled the kitchen, but it seemed alot like a polish... like something I already have from a habit I've developed...



Has anyone used a light polish on their stove top for cleaning? I've got quite of bit it I'd like to use so I can purchase some M105/205.
 
i suppose u can but i mean....i don't know if its worth trashing your pads over so i'd buy scrappable ones and i guess it depends on whats in it? you wouldn.t want to poison yourself
