Flat clear coat How do I shine it up?

ShineTech Auto Detail
I'm going to be detailing my friends 86 mustang GT. These cars from factory didn't seem to come with a shiny clear coat. It actually looks like it has a very thin layer of clear that it almost looks flat. I checked the paint & it doesn't seem to have swirls or scratches. It definitely needs to be clayed.
Should I: 1. clay 2. Polish 3. wax? or should I start out with SSR1?

This is the first car I detail. I do have a PC 7336sp that I will be using.

Thanks everyone for your help & advice!!

I'm guessing what your trying to say is the paint is oxidized. Personaly i would polish it out. and if needed clay it afterwards and then wax.

use a chemical paint cleaner like megs deep crystal paint cleaner or AIO. After you have removed the oxidation then you can see what your up against.

So I should polish then Clay? I guess I can skip the SSR product since the paint doesn't have any swirls or scratches. The paint may have slight oxidation. Since I'm new at this It's a bit tough for me to tell the difference. Thanks.

I'll try a section using this method. & like you said, at that point I will be able to tell what I have to work with. Thanks!
