FK1000 noob - Removing it on SOFT paint

Reading past threads, looks aside, on the application/removal of FK 1000, it seems like there is mixed feedback on it's easy off and at times, it can be a bear to remove (if applied too thick, etc). I guess the same goes for alot of products in my stash .....and the only true easy off application I have for SOFT paint is Optiseal and a couple of caranuba's.



Thinking about buying a tin of FK1000.



So what's the consensus folks. Is is easy off or can it really be a a slight bear to remove...even with nice thin layers.
 
1000p imo is harder to put on than remove. Being such a hard paste its hard to actually get it on the applicator. Removes fine though.



Whats wrong with OS and UPGP for your soft paint?
 
For soft paint, souveran is my nuba of choice.

For sealants, Optiseal.



Everything else is risking marring. I won't even take a dry WW/MF to soft paint. I will always spritz with some QD - even when drying.



I've read great things about FK1000 over the years/months. Just never bit the bullet. I recall reading where it looks FAB once the 3-4th coats melds in.



I am curious and want to try.



However, don't want to blow money on this if I can't work it on soft paint. I have plenty enough products for everything but soft paint.



When I say soft, I'm talking to the point where if you try to remove a LSP that is stubborn/hard to remove, you end up leaving linear marring on a freshly mar free surface. That's what I mean when I say ~~~soft~~~~.
 
I've used 1000P on my single stage van which is really soft and no issues at all. All the times Ive used 1000P regardless of paint it removes just fine. It works great on glass to, slings the water right off.
 
I just used it today and could not believe how much of a PIA it was to get any amount of wax on the foam applicator. Tried UQD and still tough result. Any tips or tricks out there?

Take the tin, turn it upside down and take a lighter and get the wax to start to burn. Once it catches fire, let it burn for 10 seconds and blow out. That will soften the wax and make it easy to spread. No Im not kidding, old military trick to spread wax on our floors.
 
Why not 2685PW instead? I think the looks are so close one could probably not differentiate.

Also, you will find paste waxes easier to use on warm surfaces. The oils thin allowing easier penetration into pores, as well as easier surface application. Not direct sunlight, but go ahead and warm the surface in the sun, then move inside.
