fk1 425 addiction

They just throw the samples in, you don't have to ask. Both times I have ordered I have gotten a sample, they are packaged in small, well-labeled containers.

I know beading isn't a 'single most important' indicator of protection, but I was more impressed with #845 beading than I am with 2180 and 425. Just an observation.

Try the 425 *over* Collinite some time ;) The thing that wows me about the 425 is the way it imparts so much slickness- after all, it's just a QD.

going to do 1 more coat of 2180, then 845. Should be WELL protected :)

You should great durabilty out of that combo.

In November I did 2180 X 2 and then IW845 and my car was still looking good in March.

I did wash it a couple times this winter followed with the FK425 QD

but the beading lasted all winter.

Just received my first order of FX-100 and 425. I've searched for tips on applying, but have a couple things I need you guys to confirm.

THis is for my new black car, that has 3 layers of SG already and a bunch of applications of HGAS after the weekly wash.

For the FX-100, I need to use an applicator? So, the sprayer is just to spray on the applicator and not for putting on the car like a QD? Do I just put it on like I've been doing with my SG? And I've read both sides that it's easy and hard to remove once hazed....can it be done WOWO?

For the 425, do I just spray and wipe full strength? Looks pretty thick....that pink stuff will go through my .99 trigger spray bottle right?

Thanks guys

I use 425 and FX-100 the same way but not for the same purpose. I spray both on and wipe around with a MF towel until dry. Its that simple. A LITTLE GOES ALONG WAY with both products. For example I may use 1 spray per panel, maybe 2 - 3 on the hood for 425. I find myself use a little more with FX-100... it is after all a spray sealant not a QD.

I had better luck applying fx-100 by spraying a MF applicator and applying by hand. The wowo works perfectly with 425 on my black paint, but I couldn't get the fx-100 to apply that easily.

I covered the whole vehicle with fx-100 then removed.

I would like to hear how others are applying this product.

For me it works both ways. First I tried to spray it onto a MF, it was extremely easy. Next time I tried spraying it directly onto the panel. It needs to be worked in longer when you use a bit too much but it blends in beautifully.

I apply FX-100 directly to a MF towel, wipe the panel, and turn over a fresh side to buff off. There’s very little haze and virtually no streaking on paintwork or glass :xyxthumbs

how is 108 for durability? .. is rated a 10 on fk1 site, i'm assuming these mean it will last a few months? :)

I have some, but have not used it yet, but I would say on the interior 2-4 weeks, on tires maybe the same, but I cannot say for sure. This is a water based protectant, basically they do not last that long. Hopefully, someone who has will chime in. Conditions will play a big factor.

I have the 108 sample bottle. I used it on the Jeeps interior parts last weekend. Looks very nice... not glossy. I can still feel it on the steering wheel. Thats the only time I have tried it.
