FK winter prep of the daily driver.

Nice work Tom. That decontaminant product everyone is commenting on sure sounds interesting for fresh starts as accumulator mentioned. Does dawn washing not entirely remove remaining lsps?

The 1119 makes Dawn look like baby shampoo. It has TSP and mineral spirits in it.

Amazing sheeting action!! Washed with NXT.

This window molding was white due to staining and environmental aging. I gave a few moldings a real good scrubing with their "poly protectant". It did a darned good job. I hope it holds up.

Finish looks good, I've had better gloss and depth of color with plenty of other products.

Did I say that #425 ROCKS! :wow: :wow: I wonder how long it will take to use up a gallon. I luv this stuff :grinno:

Update: Well, after 3+ months, the car still looks very good. In fact, I've had a couple of comments this winter.

Beading is clearly flattening out, but the surface still feels smooth and relatively clean. Car washes up nicely, but not as nice (or as easily) as the car coated with WS products.

As indicated by the folks at FK, the combo I used should be good for 5 - 6 months and my experience seems to be proving that out. While we haven't had much snow/crap on the roads this year, the car is being washed weekly (ONR or traditional).

I am very much enjoying the FK wheel cleaner. That's been a good investment and meets my expectations. I still luv that pink QD #425 spray by FK...cool stuff if you haven't tried it.

Next up: I prolly do one of the 1Z polishes followed by the Glanz Wax, which I have a little remaining. That should look T-riffic on this garnet red paint.

Tom P. Thanks for the update. Sounds to me like maybe the FK 425 was the most impressive of the products you tried...what do you think, is that the real keeper of the bunch?

I, of course, would use the 1z polishes topped with Collinite ;)

I had never considered that combo, but can imagine it would be nice. I've got a tiny bit of Glanz Wax remaining in a can Mike M sent to me when the product was first introduced to our market. I figure I'd better use it up while I still can.

I simply don't own enough vehicles to demo my shelves of products :scared: I got these nice Propel pads today and have forbid myself to use them...the cars simply don't need anything and i am very reluctant to disturb my on-going endurance tests ...

:geez :sadwavey:

Tom P.- Heh heh, I'm all in favor of not doing this stuff unless it really needs done ;) Even with my over-abundance of vehicles, I too have products I just don't get to...I know what's working and I like sticking with the known quantities (one of which is the 1z/Collinite combo).

I'll try that this coming fall season. I have had very positive results running Collinite thru the winter months. She's one durable product!

Yeah, beading is still very good when paint underneath is clean. I'm gonna try to get a comparative photo of WS that was done about the same time.
