FK curing times

Hi,



I'm ordering a few FK products and going with this combo, well .. at least for now its the plan:



1000P x 2

pink wax x 2

fx-100

425



How does that sound? its blue pearl metallic (honda) paint. I might skip the fx-100.



I'm leaning towards 1000P as from FK site it sounds more durable than 2180, perhaps someone can clear up how they compare in terms of appearance and durability.



I could have sworn that someone had a post claiming you don't need to wait with FK products to apply another layer ... but the whole 'stack' has to cure for 24+ hours ... is this true? couldn't find the post after a search ..

also will likely order 215 ... paint is in pretty good condition



edit ... almost forgot .. will of course wash (Griot's), clay with sonus grey or maybe green will do
 
The instructions on each product should tell you how long it needs to stay on before buffing off. As far as curing times all FK1 products can be layerd without any curing time. All layers will cure together over a 3-4 day period.
 
Ok read this from the FK1 webpage:



2180 Ultra Seal a sealant for use on all finishes, is a blend of anti corrosive, detergent resistant polydimethylsiloxane copolymers, which provide the finish with a high glossed protective film that gives intensive wear and great resistance to heat and water. 2180 removes surface accumulation and oxidation while penetrating and sealing the pores of the paint, giving great depth and trueness of color. This along with high melt resins offers prolonged surface protection and resistance to the elements, UV, oxidation and detergents for months of maintenance free appearance driving pleasure. Excellent for use on paint, fiber glass, gel coat, glass and chrome surfaces.





If it removes oxidation wouldnt it remove the previous layer hence being un-layerable?

It says it right there, removes surface accumulation, that to me says that it has something in it that removes what is below it, that is an indication of cleaners.
 
Yes, I know. But instead of combining too much in your mind, try it empirically. It doesn't even remove a Sharpie pen. Saliva removes more.



Technically EVERYTHING, which has some solvent in it, removes a minuscule amount from the previous layer. These solvents can act as a chemical cleaner, but you can remove oxidation with your bare fingers or with a water-dampened pad. No miracles and don't worry too much.

The only thing was that Pink Wax had a 9 for durability and depth, while fx-100 was a bit lower in both categories



That being said ... I'm thinking that perhaps its just a softer look?



I think I will order some just to test it out
