FK 2180 vs. Klasse

There is great deal of information in this thread.
Some of it is quite valuable.
Acrylic sealants CAN be layered, when given proper time to cure between applications.

Any 'high-Line" carnauba wax will give added warmth and depth...

After three years of doing this fulltime (2250 vehicles), the Klasse Twins have served me quite well. BTW, it is NOT more difficult to use...

Worked well yesterday on a Black 06 RR Phantom.

have not been around for awhile but is the WOWO method no longer viable for SG? I thought that was the best way to use it (same as AIO).

Welcome back! What are you doing nowadays?

It seems that people starting to get how to apply it really thin. Besides, the new formula (CL LLS & Acrylic Jett) is easier and not so finicky.

So....if i were to get 2180....do you think it would be better to top with IW, pink wax or HI-temp?

I would stick with the fk products so you can go back to the sealant if you want too

Just got a sample of 2180 and 425 from mad IX
Can't wait to try this. What shampoo's do any of you recommend with this
I am using 1Z perls and raindance together and just got prima and I really like werkstatt auto body

So....I just ordered the Fk2180 and the 425 spray detailer...I was going to get the BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond, All Finish Paint Protection...but they wanted almost as much for shipping to CAnada as they wanted for the product...I don't think so. ANyways, I have heard a few people saying they were not impressed with the look or durability of 2180. I'm going to top the 2180 with Collinite IW as I don't think i need another tub of Carnauba (ie. Pink Wax) or I may pick up some some s100 locally. My question is...Anyone have experience with both the Blackfire and 2180? Just wondering your thoughts? I was going to get the Blackfire earlier (not the new formula) but was suddenly captured by the new formula after seeing it on the WRX (recent post). Any comments welcome....

Summary....
What's your experiences with 2180?
Anyone have experience with both the Blackfire and 2180? comments/preference?
Anyone know where I can get some Blackfire for less shipping to CAnada?
Do you think I would be better off topping with IW or S100?
Process:
Wash
Clay
Menzerna IP (polishing pad)
Menzerna FPII (polishing pad)
Menzerna FTG (finishing pad)
Sealant - 2180 x 3 or Blackfire x 3 (24-48hrs apart)
Topper - IW x 3 or S100 x 3 (after each post-sealant wash)
Wipe all away with 425

Process look good? Suggestions on changes or process?

Tyler,

My recommendation would be:

- Shake 2180 and prime the pad with 1-2 spritz of 425
- Use initially a little more than you usually would
- Apply it with the PC on speed 3-4 with VERY slow arm speeds. If you apply it by hand, use small, slow movements and ensure very thorough application. - 2180 is color guarded so it will dry blue if you apply it too thick
- Spread a thin layer, then let it dry
- Remove with slow movements

Using FK products, you won't have to wait between layers (but I recommend a 15-20 min waiting time). 425 isn't necessary for removal; it will come off very easily.

- Second layer; use less product - it will go easier this time
- Third layer - same

Then LET IT ALONE for a week and observe. Avoid moisture for at least 72 hours. After a week do another layer if you wish and then decide to top it or not. Learn how it changes during the FK-typical long curing.
Try to get a feel for the product. Go over a small area 3-4 times and observe what you feel. The subsequent applications will be easier and easier.

What was the product's used on the hood of this Toyota to make it so reflective and glossy? I am very impressed!

It was prepped with Riwax White Polishing Paste, 1Z Pasta Intensiv, Optimum Polish and sealed with Finish Kare 2180 ×3 and Finish Kare 2685 Pink Wax ×2. Maintenance with Finish Kare 425 QD.

Thanks for the info Bence, I'll keep your words in mind when working the product. The product still hasn't arrived, but will try to post some before and afters with the crappy camera I have.

Can anyone comment on my previous questions about Blackfire?
