FK 2180 Ultra seal/Polymer sealant

The biggest flaw of the 2180 is the separation/curdling because of the relatively short shelf life. Mine is extremely hard to recombine, as it needs solid 6-8 minutes of vigorous shaking. The strange thing is that you can literally hear when it starts to recombine. It "gloops" differently as it sloshes, and when you feel that it gets "heavier" and suddenly it goes quiet as it reaches its creamy state again. It's a nice experience, but your hands are approx. 3 miles long and rather unsensitive afterwards...

Still a wonderful looking and durable sealant though.

I think the product has a certain 'character' to it :D . I have a sample bottle and it too has curdled.

In the motoring world, I think it's similar to an Alfa Romeo. Bright, sparkling and has its distinctive charm :D

A little off track here but is it known positively that the FX-100 is discontinued? On their site it says out of stock. I e-mailed them asking this question and may get an answer in my lifetime, not one of their strong points.

Great analogy!

What a shame that the FX-100 is discontinued. I love it too, and baby my remaining bottle.

It is likely that tdekany will chime in because he has vast experience with the 2180, especially with its durability. I'd say far more than necessary for me...

FredTay, yes, I've tried the #1 New Car Glaze. I think it is one of the best glazes out there. It is totally different than the 303. No abrasive package, but a healthy amount of protection. Cures spectacularly and has an outstanding, signature FK-thicker-clearcoat look. It starts with a relatively low slickness, but it gets very slick as it cures (typically 24 hours). I want to do a test to see what it is capable of alone.

Sorry for bring up this old thread. Bence, i can't get any information about the #1 New Car Glaze from the FK official web site. Do you know where to get more information about this product? :think2

Fred, I'll PM you.

BAKER, yep it's funny isn't it? :D There is a mentally underdeveloped guy on ther forums and he was the #1 basher of FK, including Pink. He sold his "unremovable" Pink, and wonder of wonders, it mystically begun to work easily in the hands of atticdog, a fellow Autopian...

Well either no one knows or no one cares to answer. It's been over a month and I never did get a reply from them.... or from here. Due to all of the problems they have had in the last couple of years I guess the only reason to deal with them at all is #425.

fx100 wasn't popular so they discontinued it.

What are "all the problems they have had in the last couple of years"?

I suggest giving them a call. I had some questions a while back, one call and they answered all my questions and were very helpful.

I just called them 10 minutes ago regarding my recent order (they didn't put the Top Kote in the box), as I sent them an email yesterday and still had not received a response as of this afternoon.

When you call, you have to leave a message and your phone number and they will call back.

They do not appear to be the best in terms of customer service.
