Does anyone use this anymore ? I'm wondering how it compares in looks and durability to DG 105/111 ? My truck is done with DG 105/111 and is very shiney / slick . I'm a big fan of DG and FK stuff. I have the 2180 and only played with it once or so , but I ordered some stuff and they sent me another free bottle .

Do you have to do multiple coats of 2180 ? I would hit it with 215 AIO first ( I would guess ) . Seems from re reading the bottle it could be a LSP if so desired .

I bought another gallon of 146 & 425 and a qt of 108:bigups

Hello

You can slip a polymer glaze (Prima Amigo etc) before 2180 if you want, it will really improve the looks.

You can also use 2180 as your LSP however it neither sheets or beads well after the first week or so. But protection remains for a atleast 6 weeks.

IMO its best topped with Pink Wax or some other wax that would compliments its its bold, bright, fairly vibrant looks .

Geoff, your description of the appearance of the 2180 is spot on!

When I use it returning from other stuff, I'm always fascinated by its looks. It has a cold, technical aspect in it; me likey.

May i ask that anyone here try the FK No 1 Glaze before? How is the review? It can consider as LSP?

I have tried the #216

Poly Wipe ®FX-Wet & Slick - Glaze • Sealant ,

kinda a AIO,(without cleaners) looked pretty good.

So it will basically give a good look but shine and protection is short lived ? I have also in the FK 1000p , PW , FX100 , #215 .

I like beading as when I go to the touchless car wash now with having DG on it the blowers pretty much blow it clean of water . The beads fly off.

I just can't leave well enough alone with this stuff , I get it looking excellent and then need to top it , strip it , try something else. .... blah , blah .

2180 topped with PW!

What a shame that the FX-100 is discontinued. I love it too, and baby my remaining bottle.

It is likely that tdekany will chime in because he has vast experience with the 2180, especially with its durability. I'd say far more than necessary for me...

FredTay, yes, I've tried the #1 New Car Glaze. I think it is one of the best glazes out there. It is totally different than the 303. No abrasive package, but a healthy amount of protection. Cures spectacularly and has an outstanding, signature FK-thicker-clearcoat look. It starts with a relatively low slickness, but it gets very slick as it cures (typically 24 hours). I want to do a test to see what it is capable of alone.

Steelwind, nice pics. How do you handle PW near trim? As much as I like PW and 1000P, they stain my trim and a b---- to remove.

FX 100 is still on the site. Too bad its nice stuff.

The pics look good with the 2180 & the PW.

I agree about the PW/1000p being kind of a pain to remove , no matter how thin I do it .

I guess over the last 6mo of playing w/DG stuff and the shine , durability , ect.... and ease of maint. to keep a awesome shine has spoiled me .

Bence, thanks a lot for your review. I think i may buy one and try it very soon. By the way, can we apply this product by hand?

Fallguy, may i know that how you apply the 1000p? I do have this product also. I apply it by using a yellow foam applicator. I apply it so thin until sometimes i can't feel that i am apply a wax on my paint work. It is just a breeze when i buff off the wax (actually i don't really see whether there are really wax on my car but i just use a microfiber and buff it). The result is awesome! Hope that this can help you.

the main advantage 2180 has over most sealants is you can top it right away there is no cure time. So after it dries to a haze and is ready to be removed it can be topped.2180 topped with a carnuba is one of the combos i use for my customers that want 2 lsp and i dont have to come back next day to do second layer.I have tested it mainy time for durability and its about 3 months when applied properly.

Hello

I always dress my trim first, but i dont buff it off until i have waxed my car. That way alot of residue wont get stuck in the black plastics.

I have seen cars after 12 months with 1 coat of 2180 and they needed more:D

With 2 coats (2nd coat was applied 24 hours later) of 2180 on a brand new RX330 and 365 days later the paint didn't feel dry at all. So whoever said that it last 6 weeks only?????????

#1000 after 8 months over PwC was still slick.

The last two cars sit outside 24/7

PS: my 2/3 of a gallon of 2180 turned liquid. :(

Same thing happened to my 16oz bottle, but all it needs is a vigorous shake for 15 seconds and it's back to it's lotion like substance (that doesn't last long tho).

I haven't used 2180 for a long time. Maybe i will as i also have FX100 / 215 and pink wax just sitting around.
